You have been joined to Christ, you have been bought with the blood of Christ, you have been united with Christ and his people in baptism showing that you have received the message about Christ, and all of this because you supposedly have, by the Spirit, the mind of Christ (2:16). Why then are you thinking the way the world thinks and judging things by the world’s standards? That is what Paul is trying to get at.

If your hope is to one day see Jesus, and that remains your hope, you will - because God will get you there. God is faithful.

For all their mess, the Corinthian church was still God's church because they had been called by God and sanctified in Jesus Christ. The church is not a product of our goodness but of His cross.

People may plot and rebel, but God's plan will always prevail.

The kingdom belongs to those who know they need the Gospel

Biblical repentance is marked by a deep and profound grief over sin and a heart-deep agreement with God over our just condemnation. This grief can only be overcome by the assurance that we have been cleansed, pardoned, and brought to a right standing before God through Christ.

Sin is rebellion against God that arises from a corrupt nature which renders even our acts of worship and good deeds as useless
