1. "Worship" is to ascribing worth/worthiness to God, which He deserves. The Bible describes that all of life is to be "worship." Are you living a life that acribes praise/worth to God? How? In what ways? Any parts of your life that are difficult to know how you are ascribing praise to God? Discuss.
2. How many of you listen to music throughout the week? What kind of music do you prefer? What specific music helps you to ascribe praise to God? How often/frequently do you listen to this kind of music?
3. What do you love most about Immanuel's singing worship? Why? How would you like to see Immanuel's singing worship change or grow? Describe.
// Immanuel's Worship Value - Specific Questions //
Value 1: We value glorifying God in our corporate worship. --> As we sing together, does our musical worship help you to glorify God and express praise to Him? Why/not? Be specific.
Value 2: We value personal holiness in all of God's people in/through our corporate worship. --> Is personal holiness on your radar as you sing out to God corporately? Are there areas of sin exposed in you that need attention and growth for you to be able to express through singing holy worship for God? Describe (generally). How can this GCG help you grow in those areas?
Value 3: We value mutual edification in our worship. --> How do you see the members of your GCG using their specific gifts to mutually encourage one another? How is this being expressed through our singing worship?
Value 4: We value the Bible's full range of musical expressions in corporate worship. This range includes: singing, instruments, shouting, skillful playing, silence, clapping, lifting hands, kneeling or bowing down. Which of these are easiest and most enjoyable to you? Which are uncomfortable and uncommon for you? Why? Describe. How might growth in areas that are uncommon for you help you acribe more worth and praise to God?
Value 5: We value preferring others as more important than ourselves in corporate worship. --> In what areas of your life do you seek to prefer others as more important than yourself? Do you find personal enjoyment in singing other people's favorite songs? Why/not? Is preferential treatment of others on your radar in our singing and in your living? Describe the places where you could grow here.
