Dr Omotayo Banjo is a critical creative empowering students, stakeholders and storytellers to counter dominant narratives, challenge the status quo and advance change for good. She is an Associate Dean of Research, Innovation and Student Success in the Graduate College and Professor of Communication at the University of Cincinnati. Her work examines Black narratives and Black audiences across the diaspora. Prof Banjo is a widely prolific scholar, having curated and edited 5 book projects, and authored/co-authored over two dozen articles and book chapters. Her 2021 book entitled Dreams for Our Children: Immigrant Letters to Future Generations is an anthology presenting diverse perspectives of immigrants expressing hopes for their future. Her current documentary follows similar immigrant stories. Dr. Banjo is a Fulbright award winner and engaged scholar, having presented her work to policymakers and tech experts.
