Teaser for the upcoming lit update from work on making graphene...really fast and from almost any starting material!! From :
D. X. Luong et al., “Gram-scale bottom-up flash graphene synthesis,” Nature, vol. 577, no. 7792, pp. 647–651, 2020.
Remember Iron Man's Mark 50 suit from Avengers: Infinity War? Tony said that it's nanotech, but in reality current nanotechnology is not yet able to make this suit. Recent research by Sun S. and colleagues can potentially be a step towards it!

Welcome to a LIT UPDATE!
How can gold nanoparticles be used in contact lenses? And why?
Today's research:
Salih, A. E., et al. (2021). "Gold Nanocomposite Contact Lenses for Color Blindness Management." ACS Nano 15(3): 4870-4880.
Showcases that the gold NPs can be used to mitigate color vision deficiencies! Truly amazing what nanotechnology can do!

LIT UPDATE - where we dissect a current science article and why it is important and relevant to the nano-field.
According to the WHO, cardiovascular diseases (also known as heart diseases) is the #1 cause of death globally. We need to take care of our heart and continuously monitor for signs of heart disease. In this episode, we look into work from Xiangjiao Xia and colleagues who developed microgel e-skin capacitive sensor that can monitor risks of heart health, providing more information than the current smart watches!
