The Crowd

48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

• His name and his shout got lost in the crowd…

• They saw his condition and refused his shout…

• You have to want your miracle more than the embarrassment and rebuke from the crowd

Vs. 49-51 “49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.”

First line of defense means to be the first or most important method to be used in dealing with a problem.

Forgiveness for what?

Forgiveness for who?

Us: Should I forgive them?

God: Should I forgive you?

Psalm 103:10 (MSG) He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve

Matthew 6:14,15 (MSG) In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part

We are treated like sheep for slaughter.[a]

37 But in all these things we win a sweeping victory through the one who loved us. 38 I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not powers 39 or height or depth, or any other thing that is created.

Summary: Nothing can keep me from the perfect will and love of God.

May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.

May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

LORD, give victory to the king!
