Welcome to a new year for Impact! and for Global Healing Response, which this year puts the spotlight on the vital importance of authenticity. We preview what's ahead as we come to grips with how crucial a grounding in being authentic is, both for ourselves, and for our politics, institutions and societies. We come to grips with how far reaching the scope and impact of authenticity is, and look at areas where we may face challenge in aligning our actions with core values, as we explore how we might cultivate living our truths and the transformative impact in our world that we might each individually inspire.

Suggested Intention Focus for this week

This week, in this year of global healing through deepening and returning to societies and politics guided by authentic speaking, doing and being, we suggest remembering the part we can each play in this, and holding as our main intention:

I resolve to connect with, and live by, my own beliefs and values.

Please join us in holding this.

In this special edition to end 2024, we reflect on the many answers to our intentions and prayers this year. We give thanks for major progress made in conflicts and crises, step changes in some formerly challenging situations, and large scale global advancements in attending to the care of our planet and the health of the world's poor. Join with us as we recognise and appreciate the great strides have been taken in a world that too often seems driven by conflict and catastrophe.

Suggested focus for this week

As we end our review of this year, let’s concentrate our energy this week on giving thanks, as we suggest as our main focus:

We give thanks for the many answered intentions and prayers that we know of this year, as well as the many that we don’t.

This week we explore the recent political upheaval in South Korea following President Yoon Suk-Yeol's unexpected declaration of martial law and his subsequent impeachment. We delve into the rapid events that unfolded, the constitutional crisis it sparked, and examine the implications of these events for South Korea's democracy, international geopolitics, and economic stability. As the country faces ongoing political uncertainty, we look at where we might hold South Korea and its leaders in our focused intentions and prayers.

This week, following the shock declaration of martial law in South Korea, we suggest holding as our main intention:

We will that there will be a rapid restoration of calm, normality and assurances of political stability in South Korea following the short-lived declaration of martial law by President Yoon and his subsequent impeachment.

This week we delve into the implications of the surprising first round results of Romania's presidential election, where an unexpected far-right candidate has risen to prominence. As Romanians prepare for the decisive runoff, we consider the possible implications of the election on Romania's stance towards the EU, NATO, and its Eastern European neighbours. We also reflect upon the influence of social media, particularly TikTok, on the election's outcome, highlighting how grassroots campaigns can shift political tides. With Romania facing economic challenges, political distrust, and regional tensions, we look at the issues driving voter sentiment. Equally important, and with specific topics for our prayers and intentions in mind, we seek to understand how what happens in Romania might influence political landscapes across Europe, especially with Germany's election in February firmly in our sight.

Suggested Intention Focus for this week

This week, as Romanians consider their own and their country’s future, we suggest holding as our main intention:

We will that all Romanians going to the polls on December 8 will have wisdom and be moved by compassion for their fellow citizens in deciding where to cast their vote.

Please join us in holding this.
