Pastor Debra walks us through the story in John 21:1-22 and how Peter was probably feeling a lot of hopelessness. When we are in this place we can feel exiled, a want to manage the situation, or put out the fire as a firefighter. She gives some helpful tips on how to exit out of this space.

Colossians 3:16-17, "Let the message of Christ dwell among you (to be at home) richly"

This is a message of availability, abundance, and community. The message teaches (learning and reviewing), admonishes (warning and correction), and gives us identity and authority.

Colossians 3:12. Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience. Do I have the spiritual self-confidence because of who I am in Christ? What is the role of the Holy Spirit in these things?

Holiness is about being drawn into relationship with the Father. It means being perfect in goodness and righteousness. God is separated from sin and so is separated from us when we sin. Holiness is not about works or being perfect. It is about becoming more like Christ so we can be a better host of his presence.

Colossians 2:8, 16-17

The church of Colossai dealt with "Jesus Plus" Theology which we see in our current culture as well. Don't let people condemn you for observing or not observing certain old testament laws because Christ was the reason for some of them. The most important think is to be connected with "the head" of the church, Jesus.

We are all one family in Christ and we are not perfect. However, we are sons of the King and have His power in us.
