  • Is Mental Health the Key to Physical Health (a working hypothesis)

What if your physical health conversation needs to include your mental and emotional health?

In this episode, we explore the working hypothesis that the health of your inner world matters deeply to the health of your body. Your thoughts, beliefs, identity, stress patterns, and nervous system all influence the way you experience and move through life.

You can eat well, exercise, take the supplements, and check every box on paper—and still be living in an unhealthy emotional environment.

So before you keep trying to fix the symptom from the outside, I want you to get curious about what’s happening on the inside.

What are you carrying? What are you believing? What are you bracing for? And what identity are you living from?

Because you don't just need a healthy body.

You need to build a healthy home inside yourself.

  • Addicted to Suffering

What if some of the emotional suffering you experience isn’t coming from your circumstances—but from the thoughts, beliefs, and behavior patterns you’ve practiced for so long that they’ve become familiar?

In this episode, we’re unpacking what it can look like to become addicted to suffering: replaying the same stories, anticipating the worst, overthinking, people-pleasing, staying stuck in resentment, or unconsciously choosing patterns that keep you emotionally circling the same mountain.

In our human-ness, suffering feels safer than change.

We’ll explore why the brain can cling to what’s familiar—even when it hurts—and how you can begin breaking the cycle by becoming more intentional about the thoughts you think, the beliefs you believe, and the behaviors you repeat.

You don’t have to keep suffering just because suffering has become familiar.

  • Anxiety is a mistrust in God (why rest is the antidode)

In this episode, we’re going deep on the uncomfortable truth that anxiety can be a form of mistrust in God. When we constantly rehearse the future, overthink every decision, chase certainty, and try to control every possible outcome, we’re often operating from the belief that it’s all up to me.

And ...THAT is because so many of us have been conditioned to believe that if we just accomplish more, produce more, fix more, and keep moving toward the next goalpost, we’ll finally feel safe.

But what if rest is actually safe?

What if you don’t have to earn your worth through exhaustion?

What if slowing down isn’t falling behind?

What if God never asked you to build your entire life from a state of urgency?

This episode is an invitation to step off the achievement treadmill and into a deeper kind of trust—the kind that allows you to work hard without worshiping your work, pursue goals without making them your identity, and rest without feeling guilty.

Because you were never designed to spend your entire life chasing the next thing in hopes that there you’ll finally feel enough.

Rest is safe. You are safe.

  • Reinventing the American Dream (Reflections & Revelations from My Italian Summer)

What if going up against American culture is something to get curious about... something to initiate...?

After spending the summer in Italy, I came home with more than beautiful memories—I came home with questions.

Questions about how we work, how we raise our children, what we value, what we rush toward, and what we’ve somehow convinced ourselves we need in order to have a “good life.”

The Italian lifestyle reminded me that life can be rich without being rushed. That meals can be sacred. That family, community, presence, beauty, and conversation matter. Most surprisingly, I noticed a maturity and independence in many of the children I encountered that made me question what we're unintentionally teaching our own kids here in America.

Are we giving our children too much convenience and not enough responsibility? Too much entertainment and not enough real-world engagement? Are we protecting them from discomfort when discomfort is actually where maturity is built?

This episode isn't about Italy being perfect—or America being broken.

It's about what we might be missing.

Maybe reinventing the American Dream means redefining success altogether.

Maybe it's not a bigger house, a fuller calendar, more achievement, and constantly getting to the next goalpost.

Maybe the dream is a life that actually feels good to live.

And maybe the Italians have a few things to teach us about exactly that.

  • Treat People As if God Has Set Them in Front of You

In this episode, we explore the sacred responsibility of how we love and show up for the people in our lives — even in the midst of busy schedules, responsibilities, and the emotional weight we all carry.

Research continues to show that meaningful human connection is one of the greatest predictors of longevity and well-being, but beyond the science is an even deeper truth: perhaps the people placed in front of us are not random at all.

What would change if we chose to view others through a softer lens — not just through their current behavior, but through the understanding that every human being is ultimately longing to feel significant, safe, and appreciated.

This episode also dives into the importance of self-concept and identity. because you cannot pour deeply into others from emptiness the healthiest relationships are built from overflow — from self-worth, self-trust, emotional regulation, and the ability to hold hope even in uncertainty.

When you begin treating yourself like someone worthy of care, honor, and stewardship, you naturally begin extending that same posture toward others.

If you’ve ever struggled with resentment, emotional depletion, relational fatigue, or simply wanting to become a more intentional human being, this episode is an invitation to pause and reflect on this simple but profound question:

What would change if you treated the people in your life as if God Himself had set them in front of you?

  • What Happens When You Lay it ALL Down

In this powerful and deeply personal episode, I sit down with my sister, Alli Hornbrook, where she shares her story of addiction, surrender, faith, and profound transformation.

Alli’s journey mirrors the work I do with my own clients. While substance addiction is often seen as its own category, the deeper truth is that many people are living with different forms of addiction every day—addictions to suffering, overthinking, overworking, perfectionism, fear, and the constant need to control or predict the future.

At the core, addiction is often an attachment to an identity.

And real transformation requires something difficult but necessary: an ego death.

It requires grieving the old identity that once defined you.

    Alli’s story embodies this process.

That moment marked the beginning of her true recovery.

Alli opens up about the role of faith in her sobriety, the humility and courage it took to surrender, and the reality of along the way.

Listeners will hear what it actually looks like to rebuild a life one moment, one decision, and one urge resisted at a time.

This conversation is a story of redemption, identity rebirth, and hope.

Whether someone is navigating substance addiction or simply feels trapped in the patterns of overthinking, fear, or self-judgment, this episode reminds us that change is possible. But it requires courage—the courage to let the old version of yourself die so a new one can emerge.

When you lay it ALL down, there is always a path back to yourself.

  • Commitment in Advance: Pre-Deciding Coaching Session with Natalie

In this session, I guided my client through the powerful process of pre-deciding—clarifying her boundaries, choosing her standards ahead of time, and anchoring herself in what she truly wants.

As we worked, she felt her confidence rise, not because circumstances changed, but because she did.

By pre-deciding, she stepped into a firm, grounded commitment to herself, and discovered the certainty she’d been searching for all along.

Thank you so much, Nat! You are a gem and I hope this served you.

  • Clearing the Mental Popcorn: A Live Coaching Breakthrough

In today’s episode, you will witness a powerful breakthrough where I help my client clear out what I call the “mental popcorn”—those rapid-fire thoughts that clog clarity and hijack the nervous system.

Using simple but powerful neuroscience-based tools, I guided her to regulate her brain’s threat response, interrupt the chatter loops, and access the part of her mind capable of immediate insight and change.

These are the exact neural levers that create instant shifts, and you’ll hear how quickly transformation happens when the brain is given the right cues.
