This episode is (kind of) a part two of “It Gets Better. I Promise.” That episode didn’t end up being very inspirational or exciting, and I felt disappointed in how it turned out.

I focus on Elder and Sister Holland’s worldwide devotional this month and add my thoughts to the message they shared.

I met Savannah the first week of this new semester. Ironically (or not so ironically), she’s in my communication class!

College is super fun, but it’s also kind of weird! It creates opportunities to meet people, to learn, to grow, to enjoy life, to make lifelong friends, and to get to know yourself. The joys and challenges of college are simple in theory, but they can be complex too.

Today, I mostly focus on the simplicity of college and of my first week back to school. I talk about knowing a lot of people, getting caught in the act (uh-oh), learning names, making friends, mean notes (or maybe not?), and having a strong foundation.

It is scary when you feel God has a specific plan for you, but you're not sure what it looks like or what will happen in order for you to get there. But from my experience, things always end up better than they could ever be imagined. This was the case for me when I grappled with the decision of whether or not to go on a proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. After days of anxiety and confusion, I was able to find peace as I learned that the mission I was "called to serve" was not the one I originally expected it to be ... thank goodness for that!
