Imperfectly Broken The Podcast

My friends! Welcome back!

On this podcast, I’ve shared a lot—I’ve been vulnerable, silly, open, and honest.

This episode feels like a new kind of vulnerable for me. I’m not sure how it will come across, but my hope is that no matter your beliefs or politics, you’ll hear my genuine attempt to express how I’ve been feeling and why politics often trip me up.

It’s a little jumbled at times—I start to say more and then move on. That wasn’t intentional; I just got nervous, and things came out a bit messy. You’ll also notice I say, “I don’t know,” a lot. For me, that usually means I do know what I’m thinking—I just don’t know how to say it. That definitely happened in this episode. Sorry about that!

I love this episode. Although I read things differently than I normally do, I love the resources that I found that talk about God’s infinite love. Isn’t it crazy that He has so much love for us that He trembles from it?! If you’d like to hear more about God and Jesus Christ’s love for you, this episode is for you!

CLWK = College Life With Kyra

This episode is all about my first couple days of graduate school at BYU. I’m loving it and feel grateful to be back in a classroom.

Believe it or not, I have two more episodes already recorded, and I’m really excited for one of them. It’s called, “Trembling From Love,” and I’m going to post it Friday. Monday’s episode will be titled, “CLWK: The Day That Was Hard.” That particular episode just happens to be about school too haha!

So here’s the warm-up episode, where everything is rainbows and sunshine. Next Monday’s episode is when I get REAL. All this said, if these type of episodes aren’t your thing, don’t skip out on Friday’s episode, “Trembling From Love.” It is a beautiful compilation of God’s infinite love for us.

Last week, my calendar fell off the wall. (I haven’t put it back up yet … though I should do that!)

I realized that it was Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother’s way of saying, “Hey, I got you. I’m here for you. I’m aware of you.”

I promise that if you look for God’s hand in your life, you’ll find it everywhere. It shows up. Again and again.

In my case, it shows up one fallen calendar at a time.

Hey friends! This episode ended up being significantly longer than I expected it to be, but as I got to updating you on my life and all the things that I’ve been thinking about, the time quickly added up.

After I update you on things, I talk about losing myself in Christ and what I’ve learned about that. When I felt like I had lost part of myself, I got inspiration that I should refocus on losing myself in Christ instead. I encourage you to lose yourself in Christ and service too. For me, it changed everything.

I didn’t know how long this episode would end up being, but I’m not surprised it ended up being 45+ minutes long.

The “main post” is only about 4-5 minutes long, and the ramblings of page two took the rest of the time.

Kadrianne and I met while we were both attending Southern Utah University, and we became dear friends. She is a wonderful person, piano player, disciple of Christ, and the list goes on and on! Kadrianne is one of the kindest people I know, and I feel so blessed to be her friend.

We recorded this the day after her homecoming (that’s when missionaries speak in church about their missions after they come home). She did a wonderful job, and I wanted to interview her for my podcast because she had such valuable insight that I wanted others to hear.

On July 28th, I went for a hike. Part of it I was planning on, and the other part … I was not.

In this episode, I share the story of my hike and the small miracle that occurred. It has nothing to do with my safety by the way, so don’t worry about that. I’m okay and was always okay. ;)

The honest truth is that I had absolutely no desire to edit this episode, so I didn’t (other than normalizing it). I sincerely hope it doesn’t drive you crazy, but like I said, I had no motivation to listen to myself ramble for 30 minutes.

Although this episode is a little more scatterbrained than I wanted it to be, I am grateful for the opportunity to reflect on what I learned from serving in the Cedar City Temple as an ordinance worker. I hope you can follow my thought-process and hear the love I have for the temple, the patrons, the Gospel, and for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

If you ever have an opportunity to serve in the temple, I encourage you to take it!
