In a tent with a French man : A daily thru hiking journal

A day of pure road walking under the sun. Not the most exciting but arriving in a city is !

Another day in the heat of the mountains, where water was critical enough to make me think like McGyver. Then I arrived in a perfect water source camp site

Back on the trail with a gorgeous canyon, an impossible via ferrata and a cruel climb in full sun with no shadow. Also alone again!

A simple enjoyable day of river and cascade jumping, followed by a bit of driving and chilling in a cafe. All in all super!

Last day in the wildest part of Croatia as the Velebit gives us some technical terrain and poorly marked paths. Also the last day we'll walk with Karmen as she has to speed up!

After a fantastic day, of course we had to have a more difficult one. Last part especially where the trail gps goes directly behind a bright red "watch out mines" sign. Supposed to be mostly demined by the organizers, still a stressful experience (especialy when you find an unexploded mortar tip). We survived and that's cool

After an annoying night, we tackle the two biggest peaks of Velebit in a perfect day weather wise, views that will stick in my eyes for years.

Because we all need a benchmark for shitty, here it is. Walking summits in a cloud brings no view, wet shoes, cold and slippery terrain. And of course my knee twisted a third time

Velebit starts to show its true colors with steep paths and unpredictable weather

After a glorious evening in Zdrilo, I meet up with Karmen, one of the 3 people attempting the Via Adriatica this summer. We'll walk the hard Velebit together!
