In Bed by Ten Podcast

In our final podcast for the year, we reflect on a year of friendship and podcast recordings. We also reflect on the goals we had for 2017 and start to think about New Year's resolutions. Thank you everyone for tuning in this year and for your wonderful support. We are so blessed to have such lovely listeners. Merry Christmas to you all and a happy new year!

- Madison and Catherine x

CHRISTMAS TREES! HOLIDAY PLANS! GENEROSITY! THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS! We discuss all of this and more in our Christmas episode. It also happens to be our second to last episode for the year! Hear about Christmas tree erections sniggers and other mishaps, our holiday plans, our approach to Christmas over the course of our lives and general merriment!

JOY TO THE WORLD! We have another royal wedding to count down to! We discuss our excitement about Harry and Meghan, analyse their first appearance together and reminisce about Will and Cate. We then chat about Beyoncé and Jay-Z, specifically about Lemonade, and Jay-Z’s infidelity. Posing the ultimate question: why do we care so much? Listen to the end to hear what celeb we would marry.

It is a month away from Christmas, officially making it the most wonderful time of the year! During the festive season we are encouraged to think about others, so it felt fitting to spend our first Christmas episode discussing causes close to our hearts. We also give thanks in our thanksgiving segment and discuss what Christmas message we would be if we were a Christmas card.

As many of our listeners will know, not only are Madison and Catherine co-hosts, they are also flatmates. In this episode, they reflect on their time in Honey Cottage, their Home for 2017. They discuss the wildlife and rodents they have confronted, washing machine break downs they have lived through and neighbourhood cat politics they have witnessed.

In the last episode of term two, before we take our one week break, we talk about the media. Instead of declaring war on the media like Donald Trump or Taylor Swift, we have a friendly and (kinda) well informed discussion. We talk about who we follow on Instagram and why this is the first thing Madison checks in the morning. Then we discuss news outlets and bias, disengagement with Facebook, and the time a friend gave Helen Clark a thumb’s up. Thanks for listening to this bunch of episodes!

IBBT is built on the strong foundation of our friendship. Sometimes the podcast tests its parameters, but in doing so, the podcast manifests as a beautiful testament to the enduring power friendship. So it is only natural for us to record an episode on friendship.

This episode chronicles our friend weekend spent at a farm in the Wairarapa, a discussion about a disastrous year 9 party, toxic friendships and our interview with our first guest, friend and new flat mate, Nicole.

We, your hosts of In Bed By Ten, are not strangers to the awkward social situations life can throw at you. We, like most of you, have experienced everything from falling over in public, dire small talk and being called the wrong name for 18 months. In Episode 18 we talk about all these things and share our insights on how to mitigate replaying these scenarios over and over in your head until you fall into a fitful sleep.

This week we talk about personalities, specifically, the dizzying highs and devastating lows or extroversion and introversion. First though, we recount our differing approaches to cleaning and building furniture. Followed by a chat about Myers Briggs and our own self-discoveries about what this means for us. Stay tuned to the end to find out which Disney and Harry Potter characters we are.

It is Mental Health Awareness Week! So IBBT thought they would be aware and talk about it. Wellness, mindfulness and whatever else you want to call it, are buzzwords in today's society. Catherine and Madison discuss feeling overwhelmed, underwhelmed and just being whelmed and how they cope and help each other and those they love.
