In Community with Plants
In Community with Plants episodes
- Episode 1
Iris Weaver, a bioregional herbalist and foraging instructor, hosts Amanda Hurley, education manager at BevCam, on her podcast "In Community with Plants." They discuss common fears about gardening failure, the natural cycle of plant death, and learning from experience, referencing entities like marigolds, calendula, and Blue Vervain. The conversation clarifies plant types—annuals, biennials, perennials—and encourages listeners to connect with plants, seek advice from experienced gardeners, and embrace "green time" over "screen time."

About In Community with Plants

Iris Weaver explores the many ways we humans are in community with plants every day, and the ways plants are community in and among themselves, with other plants, with insects, animals, soil, and…
more. These will be wide-ranging conversations and explorations, with guests, both human and plant. I hope this will help deepen your connection with the plants and the environment around you—in your home, your yard, the streets and fields and woods—wherever you are. I think we’ll have fun!
