Tiffany Carter’s mother dressed her in a hot pink micro-miniskirt and sent her on a date with a 23-year old man. She was 11. Thus began a decade of hellish sexual abuse. 

As an adult, Tiffany had all the trappings of success. She kept it together on TV, at five star restaurants, on private jets and in multi-million dollar mansions. Beneath the facade, she plotted suicide.

Years ago I would chat with Tessi at the Einstein Brothers bagel shop on South Boulevard in Charlotte. After decades of working for the man, she became her own woman. Her daughter encouraged her to become her own brand “Tidy Tessi,” like the also alliterative “Molly Maids” but she’s local, original, real and personable. Tessi talks about the loss of her son to a gunshot and how she was able to go on for her four other children.
