I made it up to New England from Florida in two days of straight driving. I grew up here, and there's just something about it..... "it's the smell!" says Agent Smith.... (jokes, but for real.)... I can always FEEL a change when I drive from north to south on the east coast—at some point you know you're there, you've crossed some imaginary line and returned to the region you were born from.

I left Florida early this morning after exploring the state for a little over two months. Now I'm headed up to New England, where I built the van, for a short work trip. On the way I found one of my favorite sounds in an unexpected place — unexpected adventures, unexpected sounds..... seems like we are establishing a theme here on the ol'cast.

Think with me. 

I went for a walk and just started recording. I've been thinking about when it's ok to intervene; to confront someone; to try to influence an outcome. This is what I made.

Today I have a story for you from my friend, Nicole. It's a story about how adventure can be found, even in the most familiar places.

Enjoy with headphones or in the car - I'm pretty proud of my sound design on this one. I'm learning as I go, but I'm really enjoying building a world with audio - it leaves so much to the imagination.

I've been getting curious all weekend. Yesterday about art, today about the form of stories. A few years back I drove for Lyft in Denver and had a creepy experience caught in the middle of a feud of some kind and it left me thinking about what actually MAKES a story worthwhile.

Today I'm bringing you along on my evening walk to talk about authenticity, and art that makes you feel bad. Also the coolest thing happens mid walk. (I'm not telling you, just go listen.)
