We are having two guest this week.  Both have a history with Houston but have also spent a significant amount of time overseas in China.  Given the rise in Covid cases we wanted to speak with them to see their experience with having to quarantine in another country.

Our first guest is Tiffoni Jackson in Episode 59.  She is the owner and creator of Fon Candles, a soy based candle company based out of China.  While Tiffoni has been living and working in China as an educator for a number of years, she is currently going through the process of moving herself and her company back to the United States.  We speak with her about the start of quarantine in China, daily life for an African American in the country, why she decided to start her business, and how her (now ex) boyfriend almost doubled her time in quarantine.

With the events happening this week we are pivoting from entertainment and releasing two episodes focused of the protesting happening in Houston in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.

Episode 55 features Attorney Eddrea McKnight.  She will detail her experience helping to organize a group of legal observers that attended protest rallies in downtown Houston.  Many of them are also volunteering to represent protesters that are arrested free of charge.  She speaks about her experience during the rally and what she wants to see come out of the protests.

Episode 56 features one of our previous guests, Dende, and his friend Manny Semere.  Dende and Semere describe attending a protest which eventually led to Semere's arrest.  Semere speaks on the what led to the arrest and his treatment while being detained while Dende speaks about his attempts to express his concerns with the Houston Chief of Police and more.

We hope that listening to all three guest will give people an insight into what is happening at Houston protests.

WE"RE BACK...kind of...

We're still in the house but after watching hours and hours of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, DC, Disney, Youtube, and Sling we finally got up and decided to start recording again.  Former guest Tausha Quan comes back to the show this week with her business partner Wendella to explain what is going on with their company, Her Grails.  The two have separated the company (formerly known as SneakHer Summit) from Sneaker Summit and they take time out their schedule to let us know the ends and out of starting a company, how event planning is affected by the the virus, what their plans are for the company, and more.
