Angela opens up about some long term health circumstances that have been tormenting her source energy, and Jae shares on-going reflections that she has found in therapy that form new tenets in her life. Either way, it's ok to not be ok, and it's even more ok to actually say it.

It finally happened! A season ago, we teased a night at Netflix's A Bridgerton Experience: The Queen's Ball and we finally went. Just a few week's after the season 2 premier, we're reflecting on all things Bridgerton from the rise (or fall depending upon your option) on Anthony Bridgerton, the absence of The Duke, a Ton more screen time for the Featherington's, and the joy behind the South Asian representation, before we finally go to meet Queen Charlotte. And in true IOP fashion, Jae and Angela had very different expereinces (hint: one of them met the Queen and one of them was almost escorted from the hotel).

Hello, Friends! Today's episode is dedicated to SAAM, or Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We've invited Amanda, host of the New View Advice podcast, to join us and open up a tough conversation. This is a safe space for questions related to survivor outreach, asking for help, self-defense and awareness in public and private spaces, and how the definitions and views of assault are being updated to fit the current time.

Usually “ Be a better human,” is the mantra of this podcast, but today we’re turning it up a couple notches to, “Don’t be an asshole!” Over a year ago, Jae made her first DBAA list, and now we finally get to talk about it. This episode focuses on reminders for common etiquette, like remembering to tip service providers, and compassion when interacting with others, such as saying, “Please,” and “Thank you.” While it might seem simple, hopefully this conversation reminds you to be the best human you can be to help make the world a better place.

This week we’re exploring the book Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell. Montell has a linguistics degree and deep fascination with cults, and cultish groups, after growing up with her father stories on escaping the cult his step family brought him to as a child. In this book well known cults, like Jonestown and Heaven’s Gate (from Angela’s Dateline Special love) to newer Cultish like groups like MLM’s and group fitness classes (that Jae zero’s in on) are discussed at length, dissecting the language that draws people in to cults, and analyzes whether they are hurtful or harmful.

Veggietales, OnlyFans, & Robert Pattinson, oh my! This week on the pod, Angela is joined by special guest Amanda, as they *laugh* their way through an unorthodox episode. What was intended to be a discourse on the evolution of communication, quickly dissolved into riotous laughter and a running joke on fruit bats? If you've been at all stressed in the past couple of weeks, laugh along and reminisce (briefly) about Tom, everyone's first friend on MySpace.

Both of the girls recount their most recent solo dining escapades, where Jae had to race the parking meter while waiting on tacos and Angela scorched her taste buds as a wasabi neophyte at Sushi Samba.
