In Phase

Team 3Moons is talking more mics! Favorite mics, mic history, Mic...Tyson? This is a fun one for sure!

Our fearless trio discuss news from AES, the latest lawsuit to rock the music industry, and they share some of their favorite ghostly, ghastly, and haunted music stories!

Today we're discussing the process of recording step-by-step. From picking out your microphones, to overdubs and comping, we'll walk you through the entire process and hopefully shed some light on what exactly happens during a recording session!

In Phase is back at full strength with the return of Audrey! Gavin shares a story about how he's a dummy. The trio discuss the essentials needed when starting out as an audio engineer. "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this."

So you've recorded at a studio and things are sounding great! But what happens next? Today we dive into the not-so-sexy world of mix prep and editing. This is the process after recording, but before mixing and mastering. It's that grey area that's often overlooked, but if you follow a few key steps, you can take your recording to the next level.

Jordan and Gavin recap whats been going on with them, whats been going on with the Lunar Base, and whats been going on with Katy Perry.

What even is a producer anyways? The term has lost some of its meaning when everyone and their sister calls themselves a producer. So what exactly is the difference between a recording engineer and a producer? Today we'll discuss some similarities and differences between the two rolls, and if you need a producer or if you need an engineer! Or maybe both...

Welcome back to our new series! Today's episode we flip the tables and discuss what we can do as engineers to help your band succeed in your next session! From early meetings and discussions to the final master, we'll dive deep into the entire process from start to finish, and hopefully we'll learn a thing or two as well.

We've got a new series! Our band series focuses on... you guessed it... bands! Today we discuss what you and your band can do to prep for your next recording session. What to expect when you show up, and what you can do to help your engineer to make things flow smoother.
