Should there be a mandatory enlistment for high school graduates? This has been a debate for many years with both sides having some advantages and disadvantages. Proposals in the United States to implement compulsory trace back to the 1800s. Public opinion on mandatory national service is split: 49% favored one year of required service for young Americans in a 2017 poll, while 45% were opposed. Among adults ages 18 to 29, who would be required to complete the service, 39% were for the proposal and 57% were against it (https://www.procon.org/headlines/mandatory-national-service-top-3-pros-and-cons/).
During this time the new generation has been more anti-social with technology losing social skills, respect for adults, elders, and parents, destruction with lack of guidance, and lack the comprehension of a common level of thinking with no structure. Should there be a mandatory for high school graduates to enlist to give their off the street of destruction?
