In the Author's Corner with Etienne

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Dianne Duvall, earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of St. Thomas, where she studied fiction writing, playwriting, and poetry writing.   Darkness Dawns, the first book in her Immortal Guardians paranormal romance series, was nominated for the RT Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Vampire Romance by RT Book Reviews and for Best Paranormal Romance - Vampire by The Romance Reviews. It was also deemed a Top Pick by The Romance Reviews and a Best Book by Long and Short Reviews.   Night Reigns, the second book in the series, was nominated for Best Best Book of 2011 - Paranormal Romance by The Romance Reviews and declared an “utterly addictive” Top Pick by RT Book Reviews.   Phantom Shadows, the third book in the series, has been declared a Top Pick by both The Romance Reviews and Night Owl Reviews.   Her Immortal Guardians novella, In Still Darkness, was released in the Predatory anthology on May 7, 2013, and has received fabulous reviews.   Darkness Rises, the fourth book in the series, released October 1, 2013 is available as a giveaway.

For over 30 years, Terre and her sisters, Maggie and Suzzy, were the successful singing group known as The Roches.  Terre has written a funny, wise, and very candid memoir of her life, both before and after fame. Terre's book, Blabbermouth, is a brave, tender and disturbing book. In it, Terre tells the story of her origins, her adventures as a young teenage girl who leaves the “lilac walls” of her childhood bedroom with the support of her close-knit suburban family, her rise to fame with Columbia Records, her travels on the road from coast to coast, alone with her slightly older sister. (“A teenage Thelma and Louise but without the murders,” Terre describes them.)   Terre also tells of her early mentoring by Terri Thal and Dave Van Ronk, Paul Simon, and Michael Tannen, of how the towns of Park Ridge, Hammond, Baton Rouge, San Francisco and Greenwich Village shaped her. She tells riveting tales of her early auditions, her first lover, her first male friend, Derek; reveals the sources of her sense of safety – notably her family – and relates violent encounters that she meets in the world as a teenager.   Blabbermouth inhabits an uneasy place where injustices are unresolved. Terre is choosing to “see each other in the big picture,” (as she calls it) by telling her story without apology. Her prose’s clear tone is like that from the gold-leaf rim of a glass stroked by a conductive finger. It’s quite an accomplishment.

Listen as Wafa shares her life story that begins in Morocco, with her mother, as she is married off at 13 to a man she does not know or love.

The true tale continues, weaving through varied countries, religions, economic states, romantic trysts, lusts, and loves. It transports readers back in time to a Middle Eastern society far removed from modern American sensibilities.

Hybrid demon, Lucien, never really had much to live for. Since birth, Lucien had been trained to believe that he was only good for one thing. Killing. That was, until he gave it up.   Being born and bred in Hell, he had nothing to look forward to but his dreams. There lied his ideal violet eyed woman, who performed anything his erotic mind could come up with. That was until his boss demands he goes to Earth to bring back a ruthless demon hell bent on destroying the world. Given only three days to complete the task, Lucien is sent back to Earth only to land smack dab in the middle of a battle between the very demon he is sent to drag back to Hell, and the woman he only thought existed in his dreams.  Athena, a Guardian Angel trained to be a Demon Assassin, wanted to kill Lucien the moment he ruined her shot at killing the ruthless demon she’d been tracking since the moment she’d been sent to Earth.   Visit Cyndi's Facebook page.
