  • 1# Courtenay Dempsey - Sir Doug Nicholls Round Interview

On the first edition of the ‘In The Ball Park Interview’ we virtually caught up with Essendon Defender and Indigenous community ambassador Courtenay Dempsey to speak to him about what it has been like representing his proud Indigenous background through Sir Doug Nicholls Round in the AFL, on the big stage at the MCG for 'Dreamtime At The G' and to hear his thoughts on this years 'Dreamtime in Darwin' game being played in 'The Top End'.

He also told us about his miraculous kick off his back heel whilst running at full speed out of the back line in 2014 against the Gold Coast Suns.

  • In The Ball Park Episode 10

The first edition of the AFL Footy Frenzy is over for one week. But still plenty to talk about in one kinetic week of footy. 'Dreamtime in Darwin' is reviewed by Indigenous Ambassador and former Essendon Defender Courtenay Dempsey. My Footy Memory details the time Michael played on a sewerage filled ground on the Mornington Peninsula. The Dogs and the Dockers are Considerable Winners in Round 13 whilst the two recent expansion clubs are Mammoth Losers. The guys praise the bizarre stutter step in goal kicking routines, screamed at staging and consider longer quarters to see soccer striker like scenarios. • In The Ball Park Episode 9

The Footy Carnival is officially over...for now.

We have 20 big days worth of footy to cover on this weeks episode which includes Rounds 10, 11 and 12 in a bumper edition of 'In The Ball Park'.

We discuss the Winners & Losers of the final leg of fixture including the Tigers who don’t have to travel to Perth and they play the worst side in the comp in the final round of the season and we look at Port Adelaide who have full 7 Day Breaks and Prime Time Slots meanwhile we dissect the struggle Bombers who will face three flag contenders in 11 days whereas the high flying Eagles will play 5 games in 18 days and will have to return to their hapless hub in Queensland, the question remains: will the fixture negatively affect these clubs finals chances?

This week on 'My Footy Memory' Michael recounts the time he played on a frozen oval where he lined up against a large ragged, rocky and wooly sheep, in a contest that was a war of attrition to survive against his aggressive animal opponent.

On this week's edition of 'Bring It Back, Give It The Sack, Have A Crack' we highlight the triumphant returns to footy for players who have missed several seasons due to debilitating injuries that threatened to end their careers including the 'mulleted' journeyman Lynden Dunn who proved his 'not Dunn yet'.

The boys want to 'Give Staging The Sack' after Callan Ward and Tom Papley's Oscar Nominations for best actor in a game changing situation.

If the great Irish innovator of the modern game, Conor McKenna can kick a miraculous Rabona kick in the pregame should he 'Have A Crack' at kicking it in a live game situation?

And the gentlemen will preview Round 13 which is Sir Doug Nicholls Round where the footy public celebrates the great indigenous players who have ever put on a footy jumper and have captivated us with their extraordinary skills and leadership in the community.

Get excited for this week's episode of 'In The Ball Park' that will make you interested in lamb shanks, Japanese automatically flushing toilets and big Austrian giants - you need to hear it to believe it!

    • The MAMMOTH Losers for Rounds 10,11 & 12

The Bombers have fallen from their early season grace and crash landed with an injury plagued list, a questionable coaching handover and a falling apart game plan, can they recover or is this another wasted season.

The gap between the Doggies best and worst is stark and if they want to be considered a contender they needed to have beaten at least one of those top 6 sides they played but we say if you beat a top 4 side, you can solidify your credentials.

    • Why The Demons Are Real Challengers In 2020 - Considerable Winners

The Demons have finally got their game together albeit against some easy opponents but their win against the preliminary finalists from last year Collingwood has started to boost their credentials sky high.

A finally functioning forward line, the domination of their midfielders and the hard as deep fried butter smashing on lower placed sides sees the Demons competing for a top 8 spot in 2020.
