In The Ball Park

The Tigers are beginning to emerge as a serious threat for the premiership again. They don’t have to travel to Perth, they have a nine-day break before they play the in-form Cats and they play the worst side in the comp in the final round of the season therefore everything is set up for them to hit September full of run with Bachar Houli, Shane Edwards and Dion Prestia to rejoin their best 22.

Full 7 Day Breaks, 2 Games in Adelaide, a bye in future weeks and Prime Time Games have been given for Port Adelaide in a dream fixture for their run into finals but will their woes up forward with an inaccurate big man and a struggling backline that had no answers for the games in form forward be the difference come finals time.

Meanwhile the struggling Essendon will face three flag contenders in 11 days & Melbourne Round 18 and the high flying WEST COAST EAGLES will play 5 games in 18 days and will have to return to their hapless hub in Queensland, With the Eagles destined to play finals and Essendon at the crossroads, will these hard matches change the trajectory of these two sides?

On 'Have A Crack' we look to one of the great innovators of the modern game, Irishman Conor McKenna, who already has the solo, peroxide hair and a gibberish interview up his sleeve but on the weekend he showed us his miraculous soccer skills pre-game that have our collective heads spinning. He kicked a Rabona goal but should he try this trick in an AFL game? We think he may not be able to resist.

We also ask should the scissor kick be attempted more at AFL level by forwards, it's one of the hardest, most celebrated skills on the soccer field but should we invite it more in the game of AFL?

It's been one of the good news stories of the 2020 Season, players returning to footy who have missed several seasons due to debilitating injuries that threatened to end their careers.

On the weekend cult hero and all round 'mulleted' journeyman Lynden Dunn ran around on an AFL footy field for the first time in 773 days.

What a moment, what a goal, what a team celebration, 'not Dunn yet'.

Joe Daniher looked certain to leave the Dons in the 2019 Trade Period but the Bombers were certain he would be a one club player however more injuries have cursed the star forward and question marks have been raised whether he would play another match for Essendon again. However with recent reporting suggesting he's close to playing should Essendon risk their big man?
