In The City S1 E2: Lindsay vs. Kenny Explodes & Amanda Moves Out 🏙️💥

Episode 2 dives deeper into the complicated friendships, relationship drama, and life transitions that are shaping the group's move into New York City life.

The episode opens with Lindsay and Andrea getting Botox at Georgina’s, while Amanda continues to feel confident and relieved about her decision to temporarily move out of the apartment she shares with Kyle. At Loverboy HQ, Kyle checks in with Amanda about merchandise and later reveals to friends that Amanda is moving out, though the couple plans to continue "dating" each other while living separately.

Lindsay explores her dating options with longtime friend Gavin at Rocco’s. While she enjoys his energy and admits there's chemistry, the two have never crossed the line romantically. Their lunch takes an awkward turn when Danielle’s ex-boyfriend Robert—who happens to be the restaurant’s head chef—unexpectedly walks up. Lindsay wisely avoids discussing Robert and Danielle's relationship.

Meanwhile, Danielle opens up about her new boyfriend, whose divorce reportedly became contentious once his ex-wife learned about Danielle. Tensions continue to build between Danielle and Lindsay after Lindsay declines a lunch invitation, leaving Danielle feeling rejected and unsure where they stand.

The biggest conflict centers around Lindsay and Kenny. Kenny is still hurt by Lindsay's comments regarding Whitney moving across the country without a ring and feels Gavin failed to support him. Kenny reveals that his mother's Stage 4 cancer diagnosis last year made him emotionally unavailable for a traditional relationship. When Lindsay later attempts to clear the air, the conversation quickly escalates. Kenny accuses her of projecting insecurities and creating drama, while Lindsay insists she's simply curious and trying to get to know people. Neither side walks away feeling understood.

On a more personal note, Lindsay shares that she is currently in mediation with Gemma’s father and making difficult decisions regarding their daughter's future. Georgina offers support and discusses how improving her own co-parenting relationship required putting her children first. Their friendship continues to be one of the most genuine relationships on the show.

At the Welcome to New York party, Andrea introduces his friend Frank as a potential match for Lindsay, and sparks appear to fly immediately. Danielle arrives feeling awkward around Lindsay, while Kyle attempts to encourage Danielle to confront Lindsay directly and move forward.

The episode closes on an emotional note as Amanda and Lindsay go apartment shopping. Amanda admits she hasn't yet discussed the move with her parents. Kyle later calls his mother to explain the situation, leading to an emotional conversation that touches on his family's history with divorce and separation, offering insight into why Amanda's decision is affecting him so deeply.
