Michele Smith and David Chapel join Joe in the Fausto wine cellar to discuss their Beaujolais winery, Domaine Chapel. The wine-making couple tell the story of how they met while Michele was on a tasting to Beaujolais--a meeting which led to David moving to New York to be with her--and what it was like to return years later, buy a winery and form their own label.

Joe talks to Barolo legend, Luca Currado, winemaker for Vietti, a Piedmont winery that dates back to the 19th century. Luca tells Joe about Vietti's exciting new Timarosso project, the long history of the winery and his person winemaking philosophy.

This week, Joe talks to Gavin Chanin of Chanin Winery in Santa Barbara. Gavin began his wine education as a harvest intern at Au Bon Climat and Qupé before going on to make his own wine of his own at the age of 21. He tells Joe about about his very hands-on wine education, how he started his own label and what he loves about the wine in Santa Barbara.

Joe sits down with Dave Foss, his partner at LaLou, to discuss Dave's long history in hospitality, his thoughtful approach to service and wine buying, and how exactly he keeps up his encyclopedic knowledge of the wine industry.
