Today's reading will cover 1Samuel Chapters 15-16.
Today we will see Saul disobey God and try to do what HE thinks is a good idea. We will see Saul refer to God as "your God," rather than thinking about God as his God. Samuel will make it clear for us today that obeying God is better than offering God gifts.
We will discuss the importance of a personal relationship with God today, and see our New Testament parallel with Jesus calling us to a personal relationship with Him so that He will know us when it comes time for us to meet Him.

Today we will be reading 1 Samuel Chapter 14.
Today we will read about Jonathan's faith in God to go against the enemy with just TWO men- himself and his helper, and see God in control of the battle. We will see God performing great acts in response to Jonathan's faith in Him.
In our discussion we will talk about making God happy today by having faith in Him to do things HIS way- by asking Him for HIS direction and then listening for HIS yes or no, then acting or not acting, as HE wills for us.

Today's reading comes to us from 1 Samuel Chapter 13.
Today we will read about Saul disobeying God by making an offering to God himself, instead of waiting for Samuel to return. The consequence for this is that Saul's family will not inherit the kingdom. God has chosen another man to take over as king for Israel.
In our discussion today we will talk about fear as a driving force for trying to fix things in our life ourselves, instead of waiting on God to take care of us. When we try to do things own way, instead of God's way, it usually causes things to end up differently than we had anticipated, whereas God's ways will bring us the best results. We are encouraged to remember not to be anxious in anything, because it doesn't add any time to our life. God knows what we need and all we need to do is seek Him first, God will take care of the rest.

Today we are reading from 1 Samuel Chapters 9-10.
Today we will see that God knows exactly when Saul will be arriving to meet Samuel and who Saul will meet on his way home, signs to Saul that He has been chosen by God to be His peoples' king.
In our discussion for personal daily application we will talk about God's divine timing vs fate and be reassured that when God calls us to do something He will equip us to do whatever He calls us to do, even filling us with His Spirit, if He chooses, to be successful in whatever He calls us to do.

Today's reading comes to us from 1 Samuel Chapter 8.
Today we will read about Samuel's sons not judging the way Samuel judges, so the people claim this as their excuse to want Samuel to find them a human king. God reassures Samuel that the people are not turning away from him, they are turning away from God as their king and forgetting about Him, worshiping idols again. We will read about God's warning to the people that if they wanted a human king they would end up serving him and would eventually regret it and ask God to get rid of the king. God warned them that when they called on Him to remove the king he would not answer them.
In our discussion today we will talk about the fact that God gives us free will, including the free will to make our own mistakes and deal with the consequences of choosing to do what we want rather than do what God wants us to do.

Thank you for joining me today. Today's reading covers 1 Samuel Chapters 5-7.
Today we will find out what happened to the people who took God's Ark. We will see that God brought trouble to them until they decided to return it to God's people. We will see God's faithfulness and love for His people to protect them from their enemies as soon as they turned back to Him, confessed their sins, and threw away their idols.
In our discussion today we will talk about how loving, forgiving, and faithful God is to care for and protect us when we seek Him and love Him with all of our hearts and how He does not hold a grudge against us when we ask for forgiveness. This divine example shows us how we also need to forgive and love those who ask for forgiveness from us and not hold grudges. We will discuss that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus and God will protect us when we seek Him, love Him, and serve Him with all of our hearts. He is mighty to save.
