Our guest this morning at 8:30 was Jan Johnson, author of Gardentopia: Design Basics for Creating Beautiful Outdoor Spaces, her latest among many spanning a storied career in the world of nurturing gardens.

Our hour #2 is once again reliably chaired by Ms. Edie Tanem; she's all up to date on this weeks' opportunities for events of interest to the Bay Area gardening community, and once you hear this you will be too!   Then it's right back to the phones and all the gardening, fruit tree, lawn management, pest management questions we can pack into an hour of radio!

Our guest at 8:30 was Kelly Rouke, who is the Director or Programs and Operations at the Pollinator Partnership: a non-profit dedicated to promoting the health of pollinators through conservation, education, and research.  To say that we hosted an expert on pollinators in California is a mild understatement.  Did you know that there are 600 species of native bees in California, not including the honeybee?

Bob's daughter Edie is on site and caffeine up; she's got a long list of springtime gardening events up and down the Bay Area!  Then its back to the phones for more Garden Talk with America's Happy Gardener, Bob Tanem!

Our guest this morning at 8:30 was John Ford of Bonide Garden Products.  John is a wealth of knowledge about effective pest control and fertilization, and in addition to answering all of Bob's questions, he took calls from our audience about how to use the products.

Our guest at 8:30 was Abby Artemisia, author of The Herbal Handbook for Homesteaders: Farmed and Foraged Herbal Remedies and Recipes.  We talked herbs, and lots of them: how to grow them, how to use them, and some surprising things you can do along the way!

Our guest this morning was Steve Bartholomew, who has recently published the 3rd edition of his dad's book, Square Foot Gardening.   Not only that, but Steve is now the President of the Board of Directors of Square Foot Gardening Dot Org, a non-profit foundation carrying on the work of Mel Bartholomew. The vision of the foundation is to help end world hunger by teaching the world not how to fish, but how to garden efficiently and productively!

Edie starts us off at the top of the hour with this weeks' freshly picked crop of Gardening-related Events around the bay; with spring in the air, people are waking up in the gardening world:  Our full board of callers throughout the hour is testament to that!
