Our guest on Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem this morning is John Schuster, he's the boss of Wild Wing Company -- and he's Northern California's premier expert on predatory birds, especially Barn Owls and Bluebirds.  John was fast friends with Bob Tanem, and has been a guest on our show many times over the years.  John spent the hour with us, and shared his expertise on these birds, placing boxes to attract and house owls and bluebirds, and integrated pest management in general.  John generously offered his phone number over the air; you can reach him personally at 707-327-8505.

Welcome to Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem, the Bay Area's premiere local talk show about Organic Gardening!  

Our guest this morning is Wendy Sandoval, part of the family that just took over ownership of Botanica Nursery and Gardens in Sebastopol; it's right along Highway 116 just East of Downtown Sebastopol.  These gardens and nursery have a rich history -- and several names -- spanning back decades, yet some of the same people have worked and propagated Rhododendrons and Azaleas this whole time.  It was wonderful to hear how the new owners are enthusiastic about their new and historically significant nursery and gardens; they're open daily and no longer charge admission to tour the gardens!

Our Guest this morning on Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem is Bill Hageman of Peaceful Valley Nursery -- or more to the point, the new owners of famous local nursery Annies' Annuals.  Peaceful Valley Holdings Inc. purchased the wholesale and web operations of Annies Annuals along with the name, whereas  employees of the original organization now own the retail operations in Richmond -- effectively dividing up the original company.  

Bill spoke to us about the respect for and unique niche niche occupied by Annies Annuals, and how the acquisition fits with the mission of Peaceful Valley; his intention is to carry the mission forward and work with all the many partners and customers of the original nursery.
