Welcome back to the Hangin' With Wang Podcast. I'm Nate Wangler, alongside my broadcast partner Aj Mohr as we get set for one of the biggest showdowns in baseball history as the all-time Republicans square off against the all-time Democrats.
In a showdown for the ages (with some extracurricular activities), the Dems and Republicans throw down for bragging rights.
1:32-10:47: Scene setter and lineups - Aj and Wang break down both teams and what to expect from both teams. Wang also explains a late scratch to the Democrats lineup.
12:47-15:49: Benches-clearing brawl after a pitch high and tight to Ben Shapiro.
19:58: Hillary Clinton flashing the leather.
25:07: Rachel Maddow hits a bombski to put the Democrats up 1-0 in the first inning.
30:33: William Howard Taft with the miraculous catch falling over the dugout railing.
31:36: We skip forward to the top of the ninth inning tied at 5-5. Andrew Jackson takes the bump for the Democrats to try and maintain the 5-5 lead heading into the ninth inning.
33:12: Taft hits a moonshot to left field to push the Republicans in front 6-5.
36:36: Bottom of the ninth inning, Richard Nixon takes the mound for the Republicans looking to slam the door.
39:15: Candace Owens robbing a game-tying home run.
40:52: Diane Feinstein ropes a single back up the middle to reach first base with the Democrats down to their final out.
41:58: Anderson Cooper delivers a two-run walk-off home run to down the Republicans in heartbreaking fashion, 7-6.
We here on the Hangin' With Wang Podcast believe that voting is outdated and, frankly, just not worth it.
Rather, let's form two baseball teams and see who wins.
Fair?
On episode 67 of the Hangin' With Wang Podcast, we touch on...
- Our failing mental health.
- Happy Birthday Jeff Mohr!
- How it's weird to say "congrats" on a birthday.
- Aj dancing on a boat.
- Getting suspended and drawing Ds.
- Sleeping Naked.
- Brittney Griner.
- Our presidential pitching staff.
And much more...
Cheers!
Aj and Wang come into episode 66 fresh off of moving from one residence to another (and ditching loads of STUFF they don't need along the way).
And while Aj's knees crack... and Wang's groin hurts... we're reminded of some of the beauties of moving and what makes a neighborhood (and a fresh start) great.
On this show, we talk over our latest unfortunate (yet hilarious) moving stories before Aj relives some of his finest memories from the biggest country music festival in Michigan.
Congrats to everyone who made it through another year of Faster Horses.
Cheers!
In Episode 65 of the Hangin' With Wang Podcast....
We talk about Aj and Wang's big move and some of the booby traps and nicknacks Aj's grandfather left behind in the house.
Then, we go old-school radio style and open up the phone lines to allow our listeners the chance to voice their pleasure (or displeasure) with the podcast (as well as some personal vendettas against Aj and me). (17:55-end)
And if you listen closely at the beginning, you might even get to hear the dulcet tones of Aj and Wang to the tune of Toby Keith at Fulton Street Bar.
It's everything you expect and more on Episode 65 of the Hangin' With Wang Podcast.
Aj's step-sister Cassidy Cobb swings by for episode 64 on the Hangin' With Wang Podcast.
From covering sports for Central Michigan in both TV News and Radio... to receiving her bachelor's degree and pursuing a career in sports media... to landing in an unexpected position with Ferris State, going after her master's, and leaving journalism entirely... Cassidy tells all about her winding journey and where she wants to be in the future.
We also cover the struggle that was COVID and having to cover stories that are gut-wrenching while receiving criticism from people in a post-truth society.
You'll hear all about the life of a journalist, as well as what we're all up against in 2022 and beyond.

If you've seen any of our cover art on Instagram, you've more than likely heard of our guest on episode 62. Derek Mohr (Aj's brother) is a seasoned graphic designer who has created several pieces, including all of our artwork on the Hangin' With Wang Podcast.
We discuss...
- The transition from doodling in high school to digital art, and how that landed Derek a position.
- The good and bad of social media and how to make art POP.
- Where Derek finds creativity and some of the odd strategies artists have.
- What is art?
- Derek's time in Northern Michigan and what he took from his college experience.
- Some of his biggest career accomplishments.
- Traveling the world and some of the symbols/cultural norms that have influenced Derek's work.
And much more.
On this edition of the Hangin' With Wang podcast, we asked YOU, the listener, to submit questions... about anything... ever.
We got some sports ones... some obscure ones... some deep ones... and some straight-up weird ones.
Also, we discuss how a specific gas station owner in California accidentally set gas prices to 0.69 a gallon - and the sheer mayhem that followed.
Thank you to everyone that submitted questions—new voices are coming in the upcoming weeks.

Full-time welder and loyal listener Brendan Ross swings by to make his podcast debut and share all about the life of a welder.
School is for some people, but for others like Brendan, jumping into the workforce was something he's wanted to do for a long time (and there is nothing wrong with that).
We also discuss our top-5 pizza spots in Grand Rapids, from 5 being the worst to 1 being the best.
