In The Thicket

This episode is not about conservative/liberal/etc. disagreements in the Church, but rather about discovering that the Church (though She is Holy) is made of real, imperfect people. Many have had experiences of being let down after beginning to work for the Church, or to volunteer in some capacity, or even just through the normal workings of being part of a diocese/parish.   We share in this episode about some of the hard things and some of the beautiful things that have been part of our experiences with the inner workings of the Church.  Full show notes available at:

Finding community can be hard because it requires a good amount of vulnerability. There are many reasons behind looking for a new community, like moving or having kids or having your friends move away. The common denominator is the pain and discomfort that can be part of putting yourself back out there. We talk about all of this in this episode, plus we talk about Ikea.
