Matt Davis, coordinator for Outdoor Recreation programs at Augusta University, shares the exciting activities that the outdoors offers through his programs.

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University celebrated 214 students who are taking the next step in their careers as physicians during the annual Match Day celebration March 17 at SRP Park. Idris Ali and Amanda Delgado, fourth-year MCG students, give us behind the scene access to the excitement of Match Day 2023.

Ruth McClelland- Nugent, PhD, department chair and associate professor for the Department of History, Anthropology and Philosophy, explains what inspired her interest in women's history and addresses the problematic ways that it is being taught in schools as well as how to improve it.

Also, Brandon McCray, vice president for development for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement, shares how his role supports the Augusta University and the mission on division. He also shares information on Augusta Gives and how JagNation can come together to make it successful.

It's Women's History Month, Angela Taylor, an Augusta University College of Nursing student shares her inspiring journey of becoming a healthcare provider. From being a mother and wife to previously serving in the Army, her ambition has led to her success in everything she does.   Gokila Dorai, PhD, assistant professor for the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, advises women students to stay motivated and expand further into the male dominated field. She also shares the growing impact artificial intelligence will on education, and how it currently being taught in classrooms.   Cierra Williams, our reigning Miss Augusta University and a soon to be graduate from cybersecurity, joins Dorai to share her undergraduate experiences  and the impact teachers have made on her career-based decisions.

Danita Myler, president of the Augusta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, and Joe Moore, vice basileus of the Psi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, discuss the impact they've made in the community since joining their respective organizations.

Quinton Taylor, a Hull College business student and a vice president of Eta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., joins Audrey Spry, charter member of the Mu Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, to share their experiences at Augusta University, and what it means to be a part of their organization. 

Elena Petrova, PhD, a licensed psychologist and director for Student Counseling and Psychological Services, explains the resources available for students to improve mental health and addresses the misconception about receiving help, including the new online platform Togetherall. 

Also, Stacy Roberts, lecturer of Management at the Hull College of Business and certified executive and leadership trainer, shares how she supports Black History Month while developing leaders of tomorrow.

Isaiah Maddox and Caroline Gibson, our Homecoming King and Queen, return to share their thoughts on dating in 2023 as well as get us exciting for Homecoming Week.

Brennan Francois, chief diversity officer for Augusta University Health, explains what medical mistrust is and how it affects patient-provider relationships, especially for Black Americans. He mentions what AU Health does to build trust within the community and how his role in the health system supports employees and patients.

Also, Dr. Biplab Datta, assistant professor in the Institute of Public and Preventive Health and in the Department of Population Health Sciences, discusses the new edition of the Healthy Georgia Report, which highlights how Georgia compares to the Southeast and nation in over 20 diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, tobacco-smoking and more.

Softball players Sophie Baker, Alissa Bolinger and Lauren Barrett get us excited for the upcoming season and share how they manage their schedules being student athletes.  Our coaches share their excitement as well. Melissa Brocato, assistant athletic director and head softball coach, alongside Chris Howell, head baseball coach, express how their core values are instilled in their players to ensure their success on and off the field.

Augusta University’s Volunteer Services & Community Engagement team is ready to celebrate the lunch of JagPulse, the new community engagement platform. The implementation of JagPulse also supports the university’s strategic plan goal of achieving the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement by 2026.

Also, Tyler Beauchamp, a fourth-year medical student at the Medical College of Georgia, joins to discuss his new book, Freeze Frame.
