Each week, we look for an active car club to highlight as we think car clubs are the backbone of the automotive enthusiasts sport.  It is a chance to share our automotive interests, learn a few things, teach a few things and just enjoy some old fashion commradarie.

This week, we get a chance to talk with Laney Hoemann, a member of the ATX Women's Car Club, and yes we did ask about men being members.  We also asked about who works on the cars, such as the wrap that is about to go on Laney's Camaro.  It was a great interview with a lot of insights about some female auto enthusiats in the Lone Star Capital.

We continue to hear how the ongoing chip shortage is impacting our lives in many ways, particularly in the automotive world.  While it is getting better, it is still a big issue in production.  Why?

It is indeed, a changing world we live in!

For the first time, the Houston Auto Show is now working with the Houston Boat Show!   Joining us on this segment of In Wheel Time Car Talk, it is RoShelle Salinas with the Houston Auto Dealers Association with more information about this event.  

First up, it means for Houston that this year, both shows will be at the NRG Center and a single ticket will get visitors in.    Along with 30 brands on display, there will be the highly popular Camp Jeep and the Ram Trucks ride throughs that are completely indoors.

Also friend of the show, sponsored by Evolve Houston, Richard 'Buzz' Smith will be down from Dallas to help everyone attending learn more about EVs - Electric Vehicles and what it is like to drive/own one.  The Mustang MachE will be here as well as the Nissan Ariya.

We get a chance to talk with Richard Tomlin of Apex Auto Works on a pretty regular basis.  Not only is Richard working really hard in the shop, but he is also the Houston Regional Executive for the Sports Car Club of America, SCCA for short.  

This week Richard has updates on events that have been going on, as well as things to come at a variety of locations, includeing MSR.  While letting us know about some of the events, we spied a few things in the shop....unusal to see a muscle car, but the '68 Road Runner is a sentimental project, while the VW Vanigan and the Corvette are more fun projects that Richard is working on.
