As moms it seems like we never get enough time to just do what we want for a day. If we do, we usually feel guilty or find a way to fill it by doing something for someone else; right?

Mark it on your calendar for the whole family to see and make an official day for YOU! Pick 1 or 2 or 12 days a year and WRITE THEM DOWN. This day or days is just for you to take a day and do whatever you want!

Make sure to write it down, let the family know, and make it happen! No guilt, it's your day and you deserve it!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

This week's FGF episode is about taking some time to be still in the present moment. We all need to take 5 to just regroup, I like to say that all Mamas need time-out too! 

Whether you choose to meditate, pray, listen to affirmations, or just sit in silence; take the 5 minutes to get grounded.

I use the Calm app or YouTube to find a variety of different options depending on the time of day and mood you're in. Here are a few ways I like to enjoy my moments:

1. In the morning before anyone else wakes up with the lights dim while it's still dark outside. I lay on the floor in my living room covered up with a blanket and just enjoy a quiet moment before the day begins. I'm left feeling grounded and ready for my day!

2. Before bed I pick a meditation (usually sleep focused) on the Calm app, get comfy in my bed, and drift off to sleep. It's nice to have something other than my never ending to-do list to focus on before I fall asleep. The relaxation is key!

3. If/when I have 5 minutes to spare amidst the chaos of the day, I will stop to just sit in silence and focus on my breathing. This is a good little time-out if you will when you just need a few minutes to collect yourself and move on.

In a world full of imitators, don’t be afraid to stand out and do shit differently. People are going to judge you regardless, so you might was well enjoy doing what you love and find contentment in being yourself! Stay true to who you are and you will become surrounded by the realist, like minded people.

Listen to how I sent myself apart from the 'norm,' some of which was on purpose and of course some happened by accident. I hope by me sharing a little more of my story helps you feel more comfortable with yours. 

We all have stories, none are to be judged. We are all unique and do life differently; so instead of aspiring to be like someone else or comparing ourselves to others, let's just own who we are and what we have! No shame in that, am I right?! 

Don't forget to come up with your own list of 10 things that set you apart from the rest ;)

Take some time to enjoy a feel good movie with your family over the weekend. If you're like me and my family, moments where we are all together, doing the same thing, just enjoying each others' company is not as often as I would like it to be. 

We get busy and even have the intentions of doing more WITH rather than for our families; but reality is, it doesn't always happen. 

So, have some fun picking a title for you all to watch, grab some snacks, and snuggle up together on the coach with your blankets and thoroughly enjoy some quality time together.

Allow your self to really get into it; laugh, cry, whatever you feel. This is your family, this is your time; cherish the moment!

Some may say that once happiness is achieved that's when we start to become grateful. However, it's actually the other way around. 

We have to be grateful for what we have now in order to find true happiness. If we are never grateful for what we have and we always seek more of something and decide that's when I'll really be happy.... you won't ever really be happy. 

When we can appreciate what we have already, it allows us to focus on the present. We begin to realize that while we strive for more and we continue to set goals (which we all should), it's vital for our happiness and contentment for us to be grateful NOW!

The more grateful we become, the happier we feel, and the more gratitude that comes our way. It's a beautiful cycle that can lead to incredible places if you trust and work the process. 

Being grateful can be as simple as taking a moment to yourself once a day to recognize the good in your life. The more you become aware, the sooner you will find the happiness we are all seeking. Don't wait until it's too late, start today; you deserve it!

We need a lot more good in the world, agree? It feels nice when someone does something good for you and it feels even better when you repay the favor or pay it forward. 

When we spread good, we are creating a rippling effect in our community. No matter how small, one good deed leads to another and I know for me, they certainly don't go unnoticed. 

You never know who you will impact, whose life you may help to improve, whose day you just made. It's not hard to do good and the more we do, the more it becomes habit and the more good we can share! 

Pay attention to how you feel afterwards. It's, yeah you guessed it, so good! 

BE GOOD. DO GOOD. CREATE MORE GOOD.

Just because, like me, RBF is just your face, doesn't mean you are a cold hearted B*itch! It doesn't make you a mean person, but you may come off as unapproachable or intimidating right? 

We are so judged by what's on the outside, so much so, that we have to apologize when we get called out for being less than acceptable... by whose standards?! I'm really not sure!

That's because it doesn't matter! We are going to be judged regardless of who we are and what we do; so we might as well own up to our true selves and do as we damn please! 

Want tattoos and piercings but afraid of being judged? If that's what you want, go get it. Want to dress sexy and feel good in your skin but afraid of what others might say? Does it matter? If that's what you want; do you! Have an RBF and you feeling self-conscious about it? Why?! Just because you look a certain way doesn't mean that's how you are defined. Those who are defining you and don't take the time to really get to know you for you and the reasons why you step away from the norm.... do they really make an impact in your life to care? 

Call it selfish, call it daring.. regardless of what it is... do what makes you happy without worrying what it makes you look like. If you know deep down what defines you and makes you happy; you don't need to explain yourself to anyone who doesn't see past what's on the outside. 

Step into your skin and love the person you become because of it! NO APOLOGIES NEEDED ;)

If you're anything like me, you have a list of projects and a to-do list that just keeps getting bigger, not smaller...

Yep, I know! I feel you too mama; the agony! LOL! It's a struggle sometimes just to get the laundry done and put away most days. 

HOWEVER!!!! This weekend, we are going to tackle something that's been taunting us on our ever growing to-do list. Me? It's between insulating our addition with my husband, deep cleaning ie; baseboards, windows, etc (YUCK!), going through the kids' clothes/closets to figure out what I need to start buying for summer.. amongst 138,028 other things :P 

Either way, it feels good to get something checked off the list and feel accomplished. Besides, if not now, when?!

MOTHERHOOD!! For real... if not the most hardest things in the world, def. top 3 am I right?! 

YES! We are not alone in this; however, recently I've been seeing so much mom shaming lately it's not cool. Yes, it's hard, no we aren't given an instruction manual.. but it's NEVER okay to shame other moms who are just trying to do what you're doing. 

Just because Motherhood looks differently for some of us, doesn't give us the right to judge. If anything, that mom probably needs community and support! While we may have some differences and disagreements (which is 100% okay!), we share a lot of similarities.

This is why it's so important to come together. Knowing that we are not alone in this journey and having a place to speak our minds about the truths motherhood delivers; can save us! It can give us that release, that freedom, and regain our strength to get back out there and do MOTHERHOOD!!

WOO!! This is a powerful episode! You for sure don't want to miss this one.
