Incheon Into My Seoul episodes

  • Butchering Names and Kicking Accents
We are so close to the end of Mr. Sunshine. We're talking about episodes 19 and 20, so why not talk about "Mayo for Sam" and historical inaccuracies in Braveheart? It's a match made in long-winded heaven! It is also the official start of the Andrea Cry Count for Mr. Sunshine. How high can we get it before we wrap up Mr. Sunshine?

  • Not a James Bond Podcast

While covering episodes 17 and 18 of Mr. Sunshine, we also cover some James Bond, some 1950s children's songs, and why Andrea is making up her own timeline for this series. I read a history book for this series! I can do what I want!

Also, the children's song to look up on YouTube:

    My Brother - Terry Scott

The Gnu Song - Flanders and Swann

  • It's Not Goodbye...

Andrea takes a bunch of trips down memory lane and occasionally remembers that she's supposed to be talking about Mr. Sunshine, episodes 15 and 16. We start with a pensive discussion about the location of a killer and we end with pensive staring at an eclipse. Both of those involve squinting. In between, there's kneeling, there's crying, there's punishment, there's serious discssions, and there's finally someone cleaning themselves up. But that's off screen. We don't actually see it. We just know because he's finally in clean clothes with no blood on his chest.

    It's about damn time!

  • We're Making Cinematastic Happen!
And we are back to our regularly scheduled programing with episodes 13 and 14 of Mr. Sunshine. Not only are they action-packed, but someone other than Andrea actually swears! And we finally meet Jeon Insurance Kang! Well, just Jeon but the red string says I must add the Insurance Kang!

  • Keeping the Sports Separate
If you're hearing this, someone did not find her mic in time to record and edit for a Tuesday post. But instead of the usual "this week will be late and this one will disappear once it is up", I'm doing a quick episode with some corrections from last week and some rants about sport. And it's going to stay up even once the full episode is done!

  • Sister Michael in Joseon Korea
With this podcast covering episodes 11 and 12 of Mr. Sunshine we are officially halfway through the series. We talk a little vague Korean history as well as some personal history that indirectly led to the creation of this podcast. There's sassy side characters, there's long looks of love, there's women warring with weapons, and there's Andrea's adventures in alliteration! Okay, that last one might just be in this write-up. Join us and learn more about the national days of Luxembourg and Cyprus than you ever thought you would.

  • Golden Retrievers and Golden Hours
We start with hugs and we end with heartbreak. We're covering Mr. Sunshine, episodes 9 and 10. That means we're talking about backstabbing, traitors, look alikes, drunk (almost) golden retrievers, fantastic lines, and some of Andrea's favourite cinematography!

  • Old Laptop, Who Dis?
Just a temporary episode to blame my laptop for this week's delay!

  • Fictional Characters as Travel Show Hosts

We continue to learn about love and build friendships (and then tear them apart) in episodes 7 and 8 of Mr. Sunshine. There's multiple gunshot wounds. Some intentional, some accidental. There's decoy ships to Shanghai and mistaken identity between Andrea's favourite "are we sure they're not twins" characters.

But most of all, there is a lot of Andrea wishing that four of the characters hosted a travel show. Surely, four fictional characters hosting a travel show isn't too much to ask for, is it?

  • More Rattling of Sabers and Gnashing of Teeth
How are we going to celebrate reaching episodes 5 & 6? By having Andrea *bleep* a word that rhymes with hunt... twice. Well done, me. But don't worry, I also go on a rant about the cinematography in one of the scenes. So, some anger, some love, some annoyance about life. A typical episode!
