Claudia Alexander was a passionate space scientist. She played a vital role in the Galileo missions, through which NASA explored the farthest corners of our solar system. She also encouraged women from diverse social and economic backgrounds to pursue science. In her free time, she likes to go horseback riding and writes science fiction books. She believes that anyone can be a scientist and make great discoveries that improve the way we live.

Marie Tharp was an American geologist who translated research data from the oceans into detailed maps drawn by hand. She also discovered evidence which proves that the earth once had a single continent and then gradually, it broke into the seven continents we know today.  After working on the land for fifteen years, Tharp finally went to research in the sea, in places like Africa, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.

Tu Youyou is the first woman from China to win a Nobel prize. When she was 15 years old, she was diagnosed with tuberculosis. When she regained her health, she was determined to pursue a career in medicine. She took the wisdom of  traditional remedies from her culture and combined it with the knowledge of  Western medicine. After years of dedicated work and difficult circumstances, she won a Nobel prize in medicine for her discoveries that led to a new cure for malaria in 2015.
