This interview took place February 3, 2015, in conjunction with the Created Equal Oral History Project. Graham Reeves and his wife Helen are residents of Independence, Kansas.

This interview took place on September 21, 2016. Art Schenk was a former Montgomery County Sheriff for 20 years. Art and his wife LaVerne have been married for 70 years and are devoted to each other.

Project Q&A, (formally The Montgomery County LGBTQ and Allies Social group) sole purpose is to create a connection between area LGBTQ members and their allies. This group will work to create an LGBTQ visibility for an otherwise invisible community. Through gatherings on the first and third Thursdays, Project Q&A will meet at Uncle Jacks in Independence, KS to enjoy good food, great company, and create lasting friendships.

Cameos of Courage is set in Kansas and covers a span from the 1850's - 1870's. There are four stories within the first book of the series, Under the Cottonwood Tree. The book follows four ten-year-old girls making a home in Kansas: an abolitionist, an Osage Indian, an Exoduster, and a homesteader. Each book features a character trait the young girls develop.
