Valparaiso’s new men’s basketball coach Roger Powell calls into the program to talk about being appointed to head-coaching position. Coming off a March Madness run with Gonzaga as an assistant coach, Powell is excited to bring his skill set to a smaller school and get a chance to plant roots as a head coach for Valparaiso. Coach and Powell discuss the variety of ways in which he has the ability to mold this roster, including the transfer portal and recruitment of foreign players. The voice of the Indianapolis Indians Howard Kellman talks about their performance tonight with an unfortunate loss to the St. Paul Saints 4-2 with a rally getting cut off in the 9th inning. The voice of the Indianapolis 500, Mark Jaynes takes us to the bottom of the hour by teasing the upcoming Long Beach IndyCar race happening this Sunday. Adam Alexander then calls in to keep the racing conversation going. He will have the NASCAR call in Martinsville this weekend to see who will be taking home the grandfather clock trophy.

 The show kicks off with some high-school baseball talk and Steve Krah of IndianaRBI.com joining the show to talk about what has been going on in schools across the state. Coach wants an early season layout for schools across the state, and who seems like early state title contenders. Krah lists schools like Center Grove, Ben Davis, Wapahani, Zionsville, and Lake Central as all being schools at the top of the pack. Then Coach Lovell wants to know some dark horse candidates to watch out for. Krah lists West Vigo as a team that may not be getting the attention it deserves, then in the northern half of the state he says New Prairie has a couple of stars on their roster.
