Why is sincerity and worshipping with full purpose of heart important? We dig into a single verse 1 Chronicles to explore an answer. Salvation is a gift God offers at no cost to us. However, he does ask for something from us: our sincere desire to try and do the right thing. He wants our hearts. He requires that we strive to do the right thing, to keep his commandments, to love others and to love him. But we have to do it WILLINGLY. We cannot fake it. He knows our efforts will be insufficient and imperfect. But he's OK with that. As long as we are doing things sincerely and with our whole hearts.
The chance to start all over is the single more important and transformative idea in the universe. This is a gift made possible through Jesus Christ. Because of him, we can all have a fresh start while being wiser and more able to love others and ourselves. These few verses in Psalms help us see how!
Many people say that they like the loving, supportive, and forgiving message of the Savior in the New Testament, but they find the God of the Old Testament to be a bit too severe and harsh for their taste. They say, "I don't need all the fire and brimstone. I need a message of patience and love!"
Here's the thing: It's the same God in both books!
In a single verse, Jeremiah 30:17, we will explore one of thousands of examples of God's gentle and patient care shown in the Old Testament-- all expressions of the Infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ!
In this episode we explore five short verses--among the most precious ones in the entire Bible: Psalms 100.
Can anxiety be a productive sensation, and how available is the ever-expanding ocean of truth to every person, without regard to status or influence? Let's see what a previously undiscussed verse might tell us!
This episode introduces the entire podcast and then digs into a verse about the centrality of the concept of covenants in the Old and New Testament and all scripture.
