Infinite Cities

This is a podcast about Stanley. He is a video game character who you play as in The Stanley Parable. If I say anything else, I'll spoil the game, and that wouldn't be very fun, would it?

In this episode: 40 hour playtime, the nightmare, Super Go Outside, Stanley Parable 11, interrogation of choice, silly bird device.

Lost in a New England ass procedurally generated city, our hosts are lost taking on random jobs as a slimy(?) private investigator doing their best. It's grimy and frustrating, with too many turrets and not enough wiggle room. And yet, I think we all had a good time? It's Shadows of Doubt!

Signalis was always going to be a stretch. We're not horror experts or even enjoyers, mostly. It expects something from you, and we're honestly all kind of doofuses a lot of the time. Still, we all tried to experience it in our own ways, and even if it didn't land for all of us - or possibly even any of us - at least now we can finally understand why that gosh dang woman is so tall in all the art.

In this episode: retreating to my treehouse, getting the nastiest six feet of conduit and just smashing the fuck out of it with a ball peen hammer, go back and find six different colored road cones, saves georg, who are these people, you gotta find the jiggies banjo or you'll never get your wife back, decklike roguebuilders.

We're back from our vacation, and ready to explore every twist and turn of this beautiful Italian seaside town! And dang - that's a lot of twists and turns. This one's a long one! Super Mario 64 is one of the most important games of all time. It set the standard for 3D platformers and 3D games in general, and brought Mario and nintendo into the future while many of his platforming contemporaries failed to make the jump and died in a bottomless pit. Yet, despite being so foundational, there still isn't much exactly like it. Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it just predates so many of the rules that have been laid down since then, but it still has surprises even after all this time.

In this episode:  retro hardware, dream spaces, cameras, that little fucking circle mario does when turning some of the time, the reward for 120 stars really isn't worth it which is such a 2026 way of thinking, the map, internet archive please stop offering nintendo games for free.
