Infinite Respawn Podcast

This week in the news: Microsoft if changing the pricing and packaging of Game Pass. The Halo show is canned after two seasons. Steam is maybe not as big as you think (or does having contract work make a difference). And there's a Bioshock 4 "leaked screenshot" floating around. Is it impressive enough to garner attention? In games: There was no shortage of anger in the group over recent Lethal Company runs. (Don't worry, they love each other, they just argue like they don't!) Oak's excited about the new NCAA football game. And Grif is impressed with DOOM! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week in the news: SGDQ started and Chicken failed to remind everyone! Exoprimal is nearing extinction. Capcom shares more RE info. Ubisoft is being extra slow on movies and extra fast on AI usage. Also slow on announcing/working on some much requested remakes. Nintendo's not jumping on the AI train so quickly, though. And the new Dragon Age is offering a death-free difficulty which sparks conversation on what constitutes a difficulty curve in a game. As for what everyone has been playing, well it's all over the place! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week in the news: Nintendo Direct had quite a few titles to discuss. Elden Ring's new DLC is getting some heavy criticisms. And Paradox canceled their upcoming Sims-like then immediately closed the studio. Grif, Baka, & Chicken started up a group run of Baldur's Gate 3. The whole team checked out a new (to them) ghost game. And Grif is baffled by some of the things in Immortals of Aveum. All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week is all about the recent Summer Games Fest and Microsoft Showcase announcements! (PC show was happening right at the tail end of recording so we don't have much on that, sorry.) Will we be blown away by any of the upcoming games? Were there any surprises? Time to find out! This week Chicken is vindicated! HE WAS RIGHT (again). In the news: Microsoft closed a few studios even though one of them gave them EXACTLY what they said they were looking for. Square Enix is tired of being exclusive. Nintendo very casually announced the Switch 2 by announcing they... weren't... announcing it yet. Yeah..... Sony surprisingly changed their mind about PSN requirements. Ghost of Tsushima is making huge numbers on it's Steam release. Ubisoft announced a Japan-based Assassin's Creed. GTA 6 won't be out till maybe Fall 2025. And apparently Valve's next game is a hero shooter MOBA. As for what everyone is playing, well lots of driving fast in Forza, Fallout 76, and some interesting updates to Content Warning. All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week in the news: Embracer Group splits into three companies. The names are... questionable at best. Warhammer will reportedly have a PvP mode. Resident Evil 9 might be getting a reveal soon. And of course the hot topic that had everyone talking last week, the Helldivers 2 and PSN drama! (Of course there was an update to that story the day after we recorded the show. OF COURSE!) And as for what everyone's playing: Racing. Really? Three out of the four are driving fast cars. Only two of those three are successful though. Would you care to guess who is good at it an who isn't? This week the news is largely focused on games being made into TV and movies! What's working, what's not, what's next, and what we'd REALLY like to see. Also, the Dead Space sequel remakes are no more. And are most devs really worried about live service models for games? Is early access the way these days? What is the crew playing? A lot of games with friends, apparently. Always best when everyone has fun stories to share! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week in the news: Take Two bought Gearbox from Embracer Group. There might be a new Splinter Cell on the way. Footage of the canned Batman game that turned into Shadow of Mordor is making the rounds. Xbox wants more digital storefronts and game preservation. New viral hit Content Warning devs say they're working on server issues. And as for what everyone's been playing? Well it's all over the place. From Halo to Diablo to Lethal Company, the crew has kept themselves busy! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!

This week Oak's out and sometimes Baka's mic gets weird. Sorry in advance for that last one. In the news: The Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is off to a rough start. WB's MultiVersus fighter is back and launching in May. Capcom is giving everyone a raise. Tim Sweeny was a jerk in an email and someone replied with the classic "U Mad Bro". The next Mario Bros movie will be out in 2026. And SAG-AFTRA is considering a strike due to lack of protections when it comes to AI voice work. In non-news fun times, the N64 is all the rage at Grif & Chicken's house lately. Game funks all around lead to playing lots of smaller games. Sometimes breaks are good! This week in the news: Supermassive and Sony are both laying people off in large chunks. Embracer Group is selling a couple of studios amid their continuing "restructuring". And the trailer for the upcoming Borderlands movie dropped. Is it top tier or trash? With the bad news out of the way, time to talk about what everyone has been playing lately! Turns out no one is a good teammate! WHAT?! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!
