This was a hard week for me. Interviewing mentors is a challenge because I find myself wanting to protect them to a fault. I had to let that go... quick. Cheryl, unlike me, is not afraid to just be. She is not afraid to say this is who I am, this is what I believe and that's more than enough. Cheryl talks about how her parents divorce affected how she saw herself, how her mother's faith shaped her own and why her love for Tracee Ellis Ross is undeniable.

Perseverance is an understatement for this woman. Destinee's interview was one of the most fulfilling moments for me as a creative. I am so honored to be able to share Destinee's story.
