This episode of the Inner Awareness Podcast is about attachments and how they prevent you from achieving a state of permanent bliss and self-realization. Eastern spiritual traditions distinguish between what is real, which is permanent and remains the same in the beginning, the middle, and the end, and what is only apparently real, which emerges from the field of Maya and changes as it progresses through time-space. Since all attachments emerge from the field of Maya, you can become attached to people, possessions, institutions, ideas, and non-physical beings. All attachments emerge from the field of Maya and only have individual qualities, nonetheless, they can influence your relationships, success, and spiritual development. One way to overcome their power is to no longer identify with Jivatman, the individual self, and instead come into union with Paramatman, the universal self. You can accelerate the process even more by developing the skill, knowledge, and wisdom to recognize attachments, understand how they limit you, and actively release them.
The episodes of the Inner Awareness Podcast were recorded during seminars, which take place on a regular basis. If you would like to learn more about Keith Sherwood’s work, please contact us at onewholelove.com for further information.
