Interview with Dr. Nimo Mohamed Abdi, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the department of Teaching and Learning at the Ohio State University. She has a B.S. in Microbiology from The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. Her research focuses on immigrant and refugee education, particularly as it relates to cultural, racial, and religious diversity. Dr. Abdi’s work examines Somali educational experiences in urban United States, and the diaspora. She teaches courses in educational foundations and research methodologies. Her work and professional experiences include researcher in molecular biology field, elementary school math teacher and translator/interpreter.
