JobBoardGeek, The podcast about the business of connecting candidates and employers is back again with the 18th episode. Hosts Steven Rothberg, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of College Recruiter, and Jeff Dickey-Chasins aka the Job Board Doctor are joined by guest Noel Andrews, CEO of Jobrack.
Steven starts the discussion by announcing that College Recruiter's team has expanded! With the newly appointed Chief Operating Officer Brad Boggs, who had previously run the job board business for DiversityJobs and at Circa, and Matt Simpson formerly of Jobg8 is joining as the new Head of Sales and Partnerships.
Our hosts get into the usual job board industry news. There are rumors that Talent.com, the Canadian aggregator, is gearing up for an IPO. But, they have competition as the UK-based company, Adzuna, is also preparing for an IPO. Jeff says it seems like these two large aggregators are almost in a race of who will get to the market first. Steven offers his perspective by saying maybe it's better to not win this race and to learn from the mistakes of your competitor. Ultimately, he thinks that there is enough room for both of these companies in the market.
Noel joins our hosts and shares how he got into the industry after spending 15 years in the corporate world. After creating his interview coaching business, he decided to jump into a new endeavor and help revitalize Jobrack. Noel talks about the various features Jobrack offers. From vetting the candidates to ensure they are based in Eastern Europe to offering guidance to employers on how to simplify the hiring process. Jobrack has various tiers of service and can do nearly everything besides the interview itself. The shortlisting and verifying processes help make the hiring experience more efficient.
Finally, Noel discusses his efforts in helping displaced Ukrainians get jobs and how he is encouraging more employers to hire Ukrainians, during this difficult time.
