Kathleen Smith then explains her background, how she got into the business, and what type of clientele her company serves. She emphasizes the importance of relationships within the business and how cultivating these connections has allowed her to work with some customers for over 21 years.
The group goes on to consider the importance of humanizing customers in a business that sometimes refers to job seekers as, "inventory".
Kathleen describes the value of in-person career events for both the employer and the job seeker. She says, "You can shorten the overall hiring process by about 40% if a recruiter has met the candidate face-to-face and can say, "This person will meet the culture or they won't," and that's not something they can you do from technology."
