His death was ruled an accidental drowning. But the facts surrounding this tragedy raise questions about that classification. Joey's family has doubts about the adequacy of the police investigation. What really happened to Joey on the night of July 4? Was it an accident; or was it homicide? • Seeking Justice
Tonight Kim Kolton and I will be seeking justice for Jarred Wolfe. The 19-year-old died in Santa Rosa County, Florida on October 5, 2007. At 11 am he was brought to the hospital already deceased by a 26-year-old woman he had partied with the previous night. The woman told hospital staff and later the police that she and Jarred had spent the night in his truck parked in a secluded spot on the farm owned by Jarred’s parents. She said they had fallen asleep and when she awoke in the morning Jarred was unresponsive. Confused, rather than calling 9-1-1 on an available cell phone, she drove past Jarred’s house and on to the home of his 29-year-old cousin, who had been partying with them the previous evening. Unable to get anyone to answer the door, she drove Jarred to the hospital about six miles away. The death was ruled an accident caused by multiple drug intoxication (methadone and ethanol). However, Jarred’s family has developed evidence that the woman’s story not only lacks credibility, much of it is a lie. Was Jarred allowed to die because the people who could have taken action to save him were more concerned about their own culpability for providing him with a fatal dose of drugs and alcohol, than they were about the young man’s life?
Judy Wolfe, Jarred’s mother, will tell us what she believes happened that night and her efforts to get the authorities to aggressively investigate. Also joining us will be renowned private investigator Vito Colucci.
