Nature is both awe inspiring, and at other times just plain confounding.  This week we are confronted by two mysteries of nature that fall in the latter.  You may never look at the sport of fishing the same again, and I am sure you are going to start checking yourself for ticks.

Crashing a wedding seems like a great idea in principle, but this week we meet a man who really misunderstood the concept.  We also are reminded that some upgrades come with a price.  A record breaking DELI is realized, and it feels a lot like the latest Chipotle experiment.  Drive safe my friends.

Not all fedoras are created equal.  This week we learn about one that is both sentimental and cheap all at the same time.  Not all gift cards are created equal either even though they are designed to have value.  One thing for sure is it is always exciting to get a new phone, unless of course you had a new phone that that only makes it a little past the 57 minute mark.

For some shopping is an art, for others it as hassle, but no matter where you fall on the spectrum finding a deal is the goal.  When shopping for a car the negotiating process can leave you feeling like you got a good deal even if you didn't.  A great price on a leather jacket or a watch may seem like a lucky break, but there are always other factors to consider.  One deal we can all agree on is beer showing up on your front porch is always better than shopping for it yourself.

This week we are joined by our friend Tyler from Cut The Cord Live.  The latest iteration of his show is up and running on a new platform and in a new studio, and we learn about the journey there.  We also learn about some things that a return policy should never cover, and how not to position your rental property to a potential renter. We also discover that how you treat someone's porch furniture can have an impact on the rest of your evening; in retrospect we should have seen that one coming.

We do some pre-gaming on a Sunday, and as soon as the conversation turned to nerd talk we were saved by our own favorite meathead. Don't forget to bury your booze folks!

There are good deals and there are bad deals.  Movie theater concessions are universally a bad deal, but also a lesson in how to frame a bad deal to make the large look better.  Free hot dogs at a block party are a great deal, but what if they are all chicken dogs?  An ice cream truck at the same party should make up for it, but even that can go wrong if you don't pay attention to the numbers.  When things go wrong though it gives hero's a chance to step up, and meeting those people is always a good dea

Expectations and reality don't always line up and often times this can be traced back to the hype we have allowed to creep into our own minds.  A biscuit shop with a great name can thrive despite a less than stellar offering, and the excitement of a drive thru liquor store can offset higher prices.  A beer with a great product tie in will sell; even if it it may have received the lowest DELI rating of all time (nice try Ommegang).

It is an interesting time of year for those of us who like sports both real and fake.  Fantasy football has been regarded as the purest form of fake sports, and some people take it more serious than real sports.  We saw another line in real sports blurred this week as we entered into the grey area between boxing and mixed martial arts, and a predictable outcome was realized.  Outside of the sports world we saw an unexpected move from a man known more for his knowledge of brass monkey than that of fine wi

This has been a crazy week.  Maybe it was the total eclipse, or maybe it was the steroids, but it seems like things are getting out of hand.  We have seen events presented one way turn out to be something else entirely, and other events not happen at all for cowardly reasons.  Whatever the cause for the week that was, we can always fill our belly's with 5lbs of rice and hope that next week has less drama.
