Looking back now, it is hard to imagine the early days of the internet and the opportunities that existed.

Back in the early 2,000's Phil Fraser had no idea how significant the internet was going to become. Initially he thought about setting up an online Bingo platform in the UK, but found his timing too early. Instead he turned his attention to building a website to list Bingo websites around the world. It was initially a hobby, but it turned into so much more as he rode the internet wave, selling out about 18 years later for a very large amount of money.

Katie was bought up in Michigan just outside of Detroit, as one of four children to her Greek, newly immigrant parents. With no connection to Hollywood, any dream of appearing in movies with the likes of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro must have seemed impossible.

Due to a childhood accident Victoria Lee found herself often in pain at work and needing major back surgery. She needed a change. A job with flexibility that would allow her to work around her back issues. An opportunity came her way to manage a small social media account. Not enough to sustain her, it was nonetheless a start. Teaming up with a friend, they started a social media business which was to become known as 100 Pound Social.

About 4 years later, 200 plus clients and a team of over 20, 100 Pound Social is a thriving business.

Malcolm Gladwell has been a key inspiration for Christine McKay's success. In this interview we find out which Malcolm Gladwell book in particular has inspired her of late and what was it that particularly resonated with her. Could you too benefit from the reading of Malcolm Gladwell books?

Christine McKay has become a very successful female entrepreneur and achieved her dream to attend Harvard University,  but life has had its challenges for her. 

From top High School student to university drop out, broke, living out of her car and pregnant, Christine McKay’s world came tumbling down. A marriage and two more children came in quick succession. With a husband that believed that she should be at home with the kids, but was unable to provide for the family, Christine sunk to even greater depths of poverty and hopelessness. 

Despite everything, with the encouragement of a mentor, with above inspiration, Christine set a goal to go to Harvard. Against seemingly impossible odds, Christine managed to break free from her marriage and while looking after her children, put herself through university, graduated with honours and gained a prestigious job. With her goal to go to Harvard not forgotten, Christine applied and was accepted to the Harvard MBA programme.

Christine has forged a career over nearly 30 years in the corporate world as a negotiator, negotiating deals with companies around the world, including dealing with the majority of the Fortune 500 companies in the US. In recent years, Christine established her own company Venn Negotiation, where she specialises in helping and up-skilling small to medium sized companies on the art of negotiation. Christine also sits on the board of two non-profit charities as she aims to help mentor women who are facing similar challenges to what she did, all those years ago. Christine wants to help women entrepreneurs with similar challenges to her achieve success.

Christine is a very engaging and inspirational person, who refused to succumb to her circumstances, overcame the odds and has achieved great success in all aspects of her life.
