After a week off we're back with a discussion on Personal Freedom for Teens. We discuss how the proper balance of freedom and boundaries is important for allowing our teens to grow, mature and take on new responsibilities. We'll look at some of the issues that parents face when granting personal freedoms to teens. We'll also look at some of the temptations and consequences of too much personal freedom in teens.We take a look at how to best balance the need for freedom for teens to explore who they are and who they want to be while still maintaining that layer of protection that all parents feel for their children.

Look at the astounding survey results.  Question: When you do something that your parents would disapprove of, what is the best description for the reason that you do it? Choose one answer.4% answered with “I’m just being rebellious against my parents.”6% answered with “I’m just doing what my friends want me to do.”89% answered with “I’m just pursuing my freedom and my ability to do what I want to do.”  Question: Think of something that you really want to do that your parents might disapprove of. Which statement most closely describes you? Annual Passholders may be penalized for violating their terms of service by selling exclusive merchandise swept up in the wake of the news of Splash Mountain being re-themed. And breaking news about changes to the planned revisions of Disney's EPCOT theme park as a result of the current COVID-19 situation.Tales from the Edge of the Galaxy has news on a new spin off series from the Clone Wars centered on the "Bad Batch" that premiered in the final season of Clone Wars. Headed up by Dave Filoni we'll see the Star Wars animated world live on after all. In the wake of the death of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and so many other minorities at the hands of police we take a look at the concept of deadly force. We'll explore what deadly force is by looking at the legal standard for deadly force. We will explore the authority invested in police to use force, when that use of force can be escalated and the rules around how and when police can use force.We'll examine the Use of Force Continuum and explore the lack of a centralized set of standards for police within the United States and how that in combination with varying local laws can lead to abuse of police authority. We'll explore the inconsistent and decentralized training of police throughout the country. We will examine laws that have been on the books for years that were designed to shield rogue elements of the police force from public scrutiny.We have a broken system of law enforcement in this country today that is resulting in deadly outcomes far more frequently then it should. We'll explore some of these break downs in the system and we'll also look at changes that are happening now thanks to the sacrifices of individuals like Eric Garner, George Floyd, Rayshard Books and many  more. We're back this week after an unplanned break with a full show. In Disney Detective we talk about the major changes coming the Splash Mountain. Then we'll examine the delays with the previously planned July 17th reopening of Disneyland. We'll finish up with a look at a recent lawsuit victory for Disney regarding accessibility and it's Fast Pass system.Star Wars Insights takes a look at the many pseudonyms of Mark Hamill and his cameos throughout the later Star Wars projects that Disney has undertaken.
