***This is the final chapter of this Leading Ladies Series***

 Kristina Love is beautiful, spiritual, intellectual, talented, creative.  She is far more than her degrees and awards.  She’s a young woman who lives not only for herself but her family, community and God.  I couldn’t have chosen a better lady to close out this series.  She is definitely a queen who wears her crown well.

I know beyond a shadow of doubt that this series was a gift from God.  I feel so blessed to know so many extraordinary women.   Ohhhh and this is only the beginning…I have many more fascinating ladies waiting in the wings.  I’m just getting started.

Not only did she pour out inspiring words but she promoted herself & her brand all while conquering her fears; not one fear but two. All of this in one episode.  What a blessing this has been.

 Sarah Bannier's time is off the charts.  This is a woman who can do it all and wishes to do just that.  She thrives off of juggling film, tv, theatre, studio work maybe all in the same week.  She’s gone from supporting roles to headlining.  All of this is nicely wrapped in the sweetest, most gentle soul I know. 

Here in the Nederlands after playing the role of Kim in Ms. Saigon this young lady’s name became larger than the frame that housed the name. 

She embodies joy, elegance and grace.  Her voice is one of the purest sounds you could ever treat yourself too.  She’s refine even when she is playing the most funniest, outrageous, complex character. 

I’ve never had the pleasure of calling her colleague in the acting realm. But I have had the honour of calling her a co-partner and an everlasting position of calling her sister/girlfriend.

May 25, 2020 George Floyd was murdered.  The day we ALL  said, "Enough is enough.
April 20, 2021 George Floyd received JUSTICE.  What we witness was a verdict that is often hoped for yet never rendered....GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY.

This week's podcast is dedicated to the jurors who unanimously reached a decision that has resuscitated our hope in humanity.

Now the work begins.  Reform, accountability has taken a seat at the table.  We can no longer allow these atrocities to reign supreme in our communities. 

Let us continue to hold the families of the victims in our thoughts and prayers.  We know  it can not bring back their loved ones, but it can give closure.  It can give a peaceful mind knowing that their lives mattered.

We are strong as diamonds.  Able to hold things together like Epoxy.  We are known to shine even brighter than the night star Sirius.  All while maintaining our vulnerabilities and wearing them as a badge of honour.

My guest for this episode unhesitatingly unfolds her modest beginnings that have lead her straight to her moment in the spotlight.  Hearing her story of not always aiming for the number one spot was in itself humbling.

 If any Leading Lady deserved the chance to rise and shine (and see her name in lights) it is emphatically this week's Leading Lady of The Theatre Aisata Blackman.

I could have talked with Carolina  all day and well into the night.  Our conversation spilled over even after the official recording ceased.  I could see that she has found her life’s purpose.  She knows her self worth and has no problem sharing that intel.  

There is nothing more exhilarating than seeing another woman living, excelling, speaking, working and thriving in her truth. 

At this moment and time her spotlight is outshining the very stages she has so graciously walked.

I love the theatre, it is and was the heart and soul of me for years. I love the smell of excellence and the challenges it brings. I’m super excited for the next few weeks and the next series.  I want to give honour where it is due. I want to acknowledge grandness. I want to fill your ear with the stories from “Leading Ladies of the Theatre”.

“This journey wasn’t solely for me” I believed that it was a path that was being used for the sake of my children.  I still hold this to be evident.

Nothing rings more true than the sight and sounds of my daughter.  The quote “Born for This” is an understatement.  She designed her own course even as she was hidden from the world. Music and Art are the components of her DNA.  She breathes rhymes and rhymes, she is an expression of Love. A spirit of peace that embraces any and all surroundings she occupies.  Her dedication and work ethics are unmatched by most.  I could not be more proud to open the “Leading Ladies Of The Theatre” with my daughter, my heart Donielle David.

Maya Angelou “A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing.  She goes where she will without pretence and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself”.

“Decomposing Beauty” Part 2 with Aiysha Malik, Rebecca Knol and my daughter Arielle David was just as eye opening as part one. Their discoveries left no stone unturned.  Definitely a topic for not only young woman but woman of all ages.

As things change, some things stay the same.  However, they have been magnified because of our increasing abilities to connect through varies mediums.  We along with our children are bombarded with images that often disturbs our adult minds.  Now imagine what they are doing to our most fragile, our teens.

This week my youngest daughter Arielle completed an assignment that after reading the 43 paged document, I felt compelled to share. It’s a project that shouldn’t only be shared with her school but outside the walls of that institution.

ARIELLE alone with her classmates AIYSHA & REBECCA embarked on a journey that forced them to collectively address an issue that most tackle on an individual basis. 

For the past few weeks I have been airing my series called Young, Gifted & Black. It has been an experience that I definitely believe was divinely given. 

The guest that will conclude this portion of the series is Shelton Telesford. He is a young man that has stepped up to the plate or I should say pulpit and let his voice be used to heal the hearts of may and comfort their souls with the word.
