Inspirational Journeys: Stories that Matter

Today’s interview was recorded in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month. Read on to learn more about my special guest.

LTC (Ret.) Sue Parisher served twenty-one honorable years on active duty, living a double life of capability and accomplishment in the service

while enduring brutality and abusiveness in her twenty-year oppressive marriage.

The constant need to relocate due to Army orders every few years definitely contributed to her abuser’s ability to weaken her defenses against him. The

atmosphere of military masculinity of the time and her daughter’s diagnosis of leukemia continually added gasoline to the horrors of her world.

Today, Sue is happily married to a wonderful Christian man whose children and family have overwhelmingly welcomed her into their world. She has three unbelievable

children who have been her inspiration and motivation during all these trying times. Her daughter’s cancer has been in remission for 15 years.

Sue’s book is entitled Rock Bottom and Faithless: Defeating the Lies of Domestic Abuse with God’s Truth

Ellwyn Autumn is an American author/blogger and a certified teacher with a Master's Degree in Education. She writes children's picture books, middle-grade novels, and Young Adult fiction.

Ellwyn's first self-published novel, Chris Kringle's Cops The First Mission, was a Finalist in the 2016 Reader's Favorite International Book Contest. Her Kamyla Chung picture book series addresses difficult issues facing young children. Kamyla Chung and the Classroom Bully is on Jedlie's Certified Great Reads List, earned Story Monster Approval as well as Mom’s Choice Awards Gold Medal.

Ellwyn discovered her passion for writing in second grade when she had to write a book report for school. She was so excited to write the report, until her mother told her that she had to write about someone else's book and not her own story. Ellwyn became indignant and decided that once she finished the book report, she would most certainly write her own original story. She has been writing ever since!

Ellwyn lives with her family in Pennsylvania. She loves all things magical, curling up with a good book, writing stories, and almost anything with chocolate in it.

You can purchase her latest book entitled Teddy Bear Tea at:

Liz Johnson is the author of more than a dozen novels, including A Sparkle of Silver, A Glitter of Gold, The Red Door Inn, Where Two Hearts Meet, and On Love's Gentle Shore, as well as a New York Times bestselling novella and a handful of short stories. She works in marketing and makes her home in Phoenix, Arizona.

Liz Johnson’s latest book is entitled, A Dazzle of Diamonds

Description:

Penelope Hunter loves her job as the events manager at one of Savannah's premier historic venues--until her ex-fiancé walks into her office with his new bride-to-be. To make matters worse, a scheming social matriarch is intent on seeing Penelope fired, especially if she insists on being seen with Tucker Westbrook.

Since returning from serving two tours in the Middle East, Tucker has built a thriving security company. His work is nearly as stabilizing as his friendship with Penelope, who has been by his side since childhood. But when the lone candidate for county sheriff goads him, Tucker loses his cool and ends up on the ballot--and on the receiving end of a smear campaign claiming the Westbrooks were traitors to the South.

To clear his name, Tucker and Penelope must join forces to find the truth behind a 150-year-old lost treasure. But the more time they spend together, the closer she comes to losing her job--and falling helplessly in love.
